Wasn't rattled, just thought it funny the only thing they could "banter" us with was our status 17 years ago, before a lot of our fans were born! As I said next verse "FA Cup winners and you fucked it up".

We thrashed them yesterday and I left wondering how we didn't score more. Their goal came out of nothing - Mitchell & Coventry having a brief mix-up and both following the runner, leaving Kone free to cut inside. That wasn't even really a 'chance' and they didn't create a genuine opportunity all game. It was a really good performance front to back.
NJ clearly didn't intend us to play this system before the season started, but it's worked better than his original plan, and credit to him for finding a way forward (or for stumbling upon it, depending on your perspective). The problem is, I can't see how some of the players fit into this new-look team. Godden, for instance - can't play TC's role offering width and he can't offer Leaburn's presence. We could probably play him as a 10 but that could end up leaving some holes defensively, and it hasn't worked before.
I like this new team and it's done the impossible and given me some hope. But it does feel paper thin, both the hope, and the team. One injury to a wide player and we lose our shape and threat. We don't have another striker who can do what TC does. And Ramsey is a great defensive wingback but can't offer Small's dynamism.
NJ will surely be forced to rotate sooner or later, and it will be interesting to see how the plan adapts.
For now, I'm actually enjoying watching us again. That's a massive bonus because I thought it was going to be another season of endless misery.
Very good performance today. Think we need reinforcements to make play offs.
Two good finishes by Leaburn. Second one is very tough for a tall player to get ball out of feet quickly but was a very composed finish. Showed real class. Unusual to see a 6,6 player who is so athletically built and has an element of abiity on the ball. He is a long way from a finished article. Almost every part of his game can be improved but the potential is huge for a guy with his physique and athleticism.
Defence looked very well organised and we look so hard to break down at the moment. On the ball, still lacking quality in open play for the most part but TC's pace gives us an out and Small adding to the attack.
On a side note, that Kone looks the real deal. Think he'll be playing in Premier League within a couple of years. He's a cut above strikers I've seen in this division.
Kone is being linked with Luton! I'm sure Nathan can give them a match report on him.

It was mentioned that Luton were interested in Richard Kone which shows what a six months he's had since playing in the Essex league.
Wycombe were singing something about chairboys and some wanderers chant but may have been the same one . From halfway line they were louder than us until we started winning and the contest got feisty !

Still think we are a way off from promotion, but we must play like that every week.

We do need a couple of wide players and an attacking midfielder, but the defence looks good and I do not understand why people are having a pop at AMB?

I was at the Luxembourg v Bulgaria match in Nov and I tried to get a "highest GDP per capita, you'll never sing that" chant going at the away fans, no one joined in though.

Their number 2 was a disgrace, always in the refs ear, constantly moaning, fouling etc. Their number 3 was the worst, he nearly snapped Miles’ wrist (well that’s what it looked like from the north lower). Horrible team who got everything they deserved today. We stood up well to them, didn’t allow their bullying tactics to work. Although miles did go after that no. 3 after the incident and got a yellow!

I watched my first match on Charlton TV for a few months. I thought the first half was pretty average from both teams. Then in the second half there were périods where we were entertaining, almost all of which involved Tyreece Campbell, and other times when we passed the ball well from défense and around the midfield. For the first time in ages I felt that the entire 11 played well. The problem is seeing this squad beyond those 11 as promotion contenders. Anderson had bad ball control and Adehme was a lazy sod. I don’t know if he has the ability but he didn’t do the running to press their defenders as required from an attacking sub.

'Ally Pally at The Valley' was quite the event... Not one person in fancy dress and those 'dart boards' at the end of the fans bar looked like they cost a pound each.

I don't see it. I think for how much his fitness was credited when we signed him, and that he's a machine, his press is awful and he looks tired when he comes in.
I can't imagine any centre back of any quality would feel much pressure with Gas closing you down. He's so slow at it.
Still hoping he miraculously gets good, but he's a total dud so far. Only thing he's ok for is when Leaburn is subbed off, he replaces his physicality in the air slightly, being generous.

Doesn't read the game, just chases the ball, never in the right place to receive it. Like me when I played and I was useless. It's not laziness.
Big shoutout for the ref, who in the last 10 minutes gave everything to them. Also restarted the game with a free kick to them when the ball went out for a throw, during the Leaburn incident.
The foul given against Jones was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. Literally right in front of him, perfectly timed.
