Perhaps their owners have accepted their fate and believe Kompany is the best man to get them promoted back again next season? He's also on a long contract until 2028 so i guess it would cost them a fair bit to get rid of. I also think he's had to overhaul the squad and they've bought quite a few young players, so maybe the owners see it as a longer term project.killerandflash said:I'm amazed Kompany isn't under more pressure. This is way worse than the season Dyche got sacked by Burnley.
But Burnley have done this before. When Dyche originally got them promoted, they were relegated in their first season up. But they didn't panic, kept faith with Dyche, he got them promoted back again immediately and they came back stronger and stayed up for a few years.

That Burnley team which was relegated under Dyche before bouncing back were a lot nearer survival than the current one. In 2014/15 they went down in 19th with 33 points, 5 points below Villa in 17th.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

I wish they’d stop referencing XG all the time in commentary and pundit discussion. I’m sure some people lap it up, but I’m a mathematician and even I don’t know anyone who gives a shit about it.You don’t need to know that Rashford’s chance was 0.03 or Haaland’s chance was 0.89 or whatever. One was a brilliant strike and the other was a missed sitter. That’s all you need to know.7

What a hit from Foden! Don't know which of his and Rashford's was better.0

I’d probably go with Rashford’s, but both great goals. Can’t believe Haaland’s miss earlier though!Addick Addict said:What a hit from Foden! Don't know which of his and Rashford's was better.

Foden’s been brilliant, so hope we get this version of him at the Euros.1

It’s crazy how far behind City United are for all the money spent on their team.1

The enigma that is Rashford. Scores the goal of the season then gets hooked after 70 minutes of utter toilet.0

Arsenal are a great side but Sheffield U are proper dogshit4

Ref ought to stop this game now to save Sheff Utd further punishment.3

I think Arsenal could be on for eight tonight.2

It's a mystery as to how they have managed to pick up 13 points.2 -
Won't get a better chance to be the first 10-0 in the Premier League.0

Sheffield United should be kicked out of the league, this is just ridiculous now.1

I've only got 2 Arsenal defenders in my fantasy team. Knowing my luck they'll win 15-1, with neither scoring, and no clean sheet either

I’ve got Gabriel Jesus upfront in mine - he’s not even on the pitch while all this is going on!killerandflash said:I've only got 2 Arsenal defenders in my fantasy team. Knowing my luck they'll win 15-1, with neither scoring, and no clean sheet either

            6-0. I got great odds on over 7.5 at 4-0. 2 more to go.0

Sheff Utd remain on track to become the first side to concede 100 goals in a 38 game Premier league season.1
