I'm amazed Kompany isn't under more pressure. This is way worse than the season Dyche got sacked by Burnley.
Perhaps their owners have accepted their fate and believe Kompany is the best man to get them promoted back again next season? He's also on a long contract until 2028 so i guess it would cost them a fair bit to get rid of. I also think he's had to overhaul the squad and they've bought quite a few young players, so maybe the owners see it as a longer term project.
But Burnley have done this before. When Dyche originally got them promoted, they were relegated in their first season up. But they didn't panic, kept faith with Dyche, he got them promoted back again immediately and they came back stronger and stayed up for a few years.

That Burnley team which was relegated under Dyche before bouncing back were a lot nearer survival than the current one. In 2014/15 they went down in 19th with 33 points, 5 points below Villa in 17th.
After another home defeat, they currently have 13 points from 27 games, 9 points off 17th
I wish they’d stop referencing XG all the time in commentary and pundit discussion. I’m sure some people lap it up, but I’m a mathematician and even I don’t know anyone who gives a shit about it.
You don’t need to know that Rashford’s chance was 0.03 or Haaland’s chance was 0.89 or whatever. One was a brilliant strike and the other was a missed sitter. That’s all you need to know.

Callum will be tugging himself off on the other side of the pond.

It's a mystery as to how they have managed to pick up 13 points.
