Great day again. Never had two days like it at Cheltenham. Bookies probably wouldn’t agree.

3 winners yesterday but Gutted because I wrote 2 options down for each race before selecting my Super Heinz 7. The ones I passed on were:
1.30 Impaire Et Pass - won

The increased number of races and horses being diverted away in preference rather than in addition to Aintree/Punchestown has, from a punting perspective, made it easier to find winners, especially in the non handicaps. That isn't, necessarily, a good thing in my opinion because it has had the effect of diminishing the competitiveness of Cheltenham. And that is what Cheltenham used to be to me. Sometimes less is more and the various calls to add a fifth day to the Festival aren't going to help the overall competitiveness.

I have bolded all the SPs of those that returned at 3/1 or less for each year:

    30 years ago - 19 races:

    5/1
    5/1
    13/2
    11/2
    6/1

    20/1
    8/1

    Last year - 28 races:

    9/4
    5/2
    10/1
    8/11
    18/1
    10/1
    2/1

    1.30 - 0.5pts e/w Stage Star @ 10/1

Not a big betting race for me

    2.10 - 1pt win Thanksforthehelp @ 4/1; 0.5pts e/w Captain Morgs @ 14/1; 0.5pts e/w Hector Javilex @ 16/1

Sky offering 8 places, so having three darts.

2.50 - no bet. Might have a quid each way on Envoi Allen for a minor interest.

    3.30 - 1pt win Flooring Porter @ 11/2; 0.75pts e/w Paisley Park @ 16/1.

I also like Home By The Lee here.

    4.10 - 0.5pts e/w Hereditary Rule @ 33/1; 0.75pts e/w Frero Banbou @ 9/1.

(Also was considering: War Lord @ 20/1; Il Ridoto @ 8/1.)

    4.50 - 0.5pts e/w Under Control @ 14/1; 0.5pts e/w Jetara @ 25/1

    Sky offering 5pl, may re-evaluate

    5.30 - 1pt e/w Mr Incredible;  0.5pts e/w Fontaine Collonges

Options: Dunboyne; Rapper; Musical Slave; maybe back Stumptown and be unimaginative. So many chances here.

    -----------------

Big handicap day, that's 15pts laid out.

Good luck @northstandsteve today with Stage Star. He’s got my money in the opener.

    Bet365 super boost on Shishkin - 10/11 to 7/4.
    That’s tempting.

    Today I’ve gone for:
    Balco Coastal
    An Tailliur
    Blue Lord
    Klassical Dream       E/W lucky15.

Only allowing me £10 on Bet365 super boost.
Think it’s a good bet all the same.

Put my PP freebie on Dr. Kananga in the last - e/w. Got 22/1 last night, now 16s. Hopefully grind them down from the front in the ground he favours.

And mine. Just cannot get excited about Mighty Potters victory last time out.
Adamantly Chosen (who it beat by 8 lengths) didn't exactly bolster that form (7th to The Real Whacker yesterday).

Can see this coming back to bite me on the arse.
