Blimey, I missed this - really sad.
She was one tough mare. This is her (3rd at the time, yellow sleeves red cap) going through the middle of The Chair, half way through the 2019 GN. Ok a bad mistake but not many horses would have stood up after doing that, let alone have the guts and stamina to go on and so nearly win the race, 3L behind the Tiger.
RIP Magic

That was crazy seeing William Buick smashed in the face by the horses head in the next stall and holding on to the stalls and yet the race still started ! Has to be a rule 4 and punters get their money back on Blue Trail.0
-
Starter not very observant, won't get a reprimand though.0
-
Blue trail declared a non runner. That could have been so dangerous for William Buick.
They must've done a concussion test afterwards as he looked well groggy.0 -
Did Westover each way so got something back. Desert Crown was impressive but Westover had a stinker of a run and did well to get as close as he did to the winner.0
-
Didn't even touch the whip, could have won that by more if he turned it on, thought that was a great ride1
-
well done Richard Kingscote, confirming what a good jock he is .. he's a motorbike racing/speed freak so riding thoroughbreds must be a doddle for him0

Desert Crown looks a very good horse - Westover was unlucky in running but I would back the winner to confirm the places if they ever meet again (possibly Irish Derby).Could be some very good races in the summer and would love to see Desert Crown against Emily Upjohn, maybe the King George.1

A mate of mine has a share in this horse.Al Qareem runs today in the Group 2 Queens Vase @ Royal Ascot. The race is off @ 15.05, it’s over 14 furlongs, the going is good/firm & he’ll be ridden by Clifford Lee. He’s drawn 8 of the 12 runners (1 being on the inside, 12 on the outside), which could be better as a right hand bend comes quite quickly after the start & you don’t want to be too wide going into it.As you would expect for a first prize of £155,000, second £58,000, third £29,000 & fourth £15,500 it’s an extremely competitive race with many top yards represented & it also includes most of the very top jockeys. All the horses are 3 year olds & none I believe have gone this far before.Al Qareem is currently priced anywhere from 8/1 - 10/1 depending on the bookmaker & puts him in as about 5th favourite. The trainer is very pleased with him & thinks he will make a bold show, although the shorter straight makes it more difficult for horses that are prominent, which we aim to be.2

Dettori has had better days. Did he really think that Moore was going to do him any favours?1
-
Moore read Frankie like a book there. Gave him no chance to get going from the back.1

Don’t get many debut runs like that. Holloway Boy.0
-
Have Holloway Boy in a L15 ‘lottery ticket’ at 100/1 so I’m not complaining…
Not often you’ll see the first three home in the Chesham at 40/1, 80/1 and 33/1!1
