I rarely meet charlton fans in SE London these days.17

A f*ck I could not give.Read what I said again. It doesn't impact what we have to do - i.e. get Cat 1. It would impact us greatly if we don't do what we have to do, which has f*ck all to do with what they do.1 -

I suspect that nearly all London clubs have training grounds either on Green Belt land of some sort or Metropolitan Open Land. After all most large, flat plots of land around London which weren't protected in some way would have disappeared years ago.
Ultimately training grounds will still be 90-95% open land in the same way that golf courses are predominantly still open land, and the land is still protected so that the football club couldn't then just flog the site for housing afterwards for a big profit. Hence Roland couldn't just flog Sparrows Lane to a builder1 -

Just out of interest do the spanner’s rent or own their current exercise yards in SE9?0

Shifting out to W Kingsdown should keep things familiar for the players during the week and the weekend, given the high density of criminality (petty and not so petty) in the neighbourhood of the proposed training ground and the locality of the rusting toolbox.0 -

So close to Brands Hatch that when racing, practice or testing is going on (which is almost everyday in one way or another), shouted instructions to the players will not be heard…..add to that the constant background drone from the M20 will be extremely annoying……some air pollution considerations too.
LOL…….😂😂😂0 -

Well - fuck me - look at this@Airman Brown you have the best understanding of the planning process on here - is this a cop out by Sevenoaks Council so that the decision is made by Central Government ??1
-
I think it has to be referred to the Secretary of State because it’s a departure from policy in the Green Belt, which has statutory protection. The SoS probably won’t call it in, they just have to be notified so they can if they think the council is making an unjustified decision.
The Green Belt doesn’t mean nothing can be built ever; it requires a higher and specific level of justification against any damage.0 -

And the majority of this will be football pitches, so easily revertible0

With Palace in suburbia Beckenham and Millwall heading to Kent then South London is ours for the taking of we can get Cat1 and an owner with money. Location of Sparrows Lane a great advantage. Never really understood why some fans were not bothered if we moved away.3
