Typical of you.5 -
Before this season, I’d never heard of Stockton, the striker at Morecambe. He’s now scored 6 goals in 6 games this season.2

I would have seen him in the L2 section of EFL on Quest, but before this season his goal scoring ratio was nothing special - 13 in 43 last season was by far his beststoneroses19 said:Before this season, I’d never heard of Stockton, the striker at Morecambe. Taxi for SoundAs.4 -
Sod Aaron Ramsey @ Aston Villa
Maybe we should look into bringing in Cameron Archer from them
Second youngest scorer behind Louis Barry for them
Has scored a hat-trick tonight, albeit only against Barrow6 -

Yeah but Aiden O'Brian has got a hattrick against Blackpool I wouldn't want him eitherForeverAddickted said:Sod Aaron Ramsey @ Aston Villa

Lets circle back on that after we play Crewe on Saturday, who helped do our playoff chances in April when we had a much better team than we have now.Todds_right_hook said:

I am fine with another year or so in league 1. we have had a very bad start but to say we are in a relegation fight is crazy.

He was not first choice for most of last season because he was not seen as good enough. Now we are so desperate that, along with Gilbey, another in and out player, we expect him to make us promotion challengers.FishCostaFortune said:
For me if waiting meant we got someone of real quality for the 40 games left then ultimately I think it will be a good decision.J BLOCK said:
Only then you’d be questioning it?ValleyGary said:If we go into Saturday with no senior left back again then I will begin to question how good people actually are at their job. Would be criminal.
If we don't, then I'd have been happy to have signed a journeyman league one left back instead and that's exactly what we should have done as Purrington is more then capable of helping us get out this league as first choice.
How far our expectations have fallen.1 -

Yet Crewe's team has also been decimated from that night.Southbank said:

Three of their team that drew with us at the Valley last season, started their last League game
Pickering: He was only ever on loan from Blackburn after they signed him last summer
Wintle: Gone to Cardiff
Dale: "Ill" yet off to the Championship
Kirk: No idea what happened to him
Lowery: Refuses to sign a new deal so has been frozen out

A much better team ? Aneke that’s the only real difference and they won’t have Kirk, Dale or their centre mids they had that day.Southbank said:

This is all in last season’s loss to the club. They may have held the cash - or not if it was held back from them by the bank - but it was never theirs until it was exchanged for tickets or streams.Oliver Street said:With all the credit from last season, our two season tickets cost the grand total of £218. Multiplied across all ST holders, this must = less money for new players. I'm as disappointed as anyone about our start to the season but not surprised we aren't splashing the cash... but it would be nice to see some new talent coming in!I can understand why people are glad they didn’t have to pay out full whack for a season ticket this year but it’s not a factor for the club. Plus there were only 3,500 season tickets sold, so it affects a minority of buyers.
If player recruitment was directly based on ticket income we’d never bring in anyone as we always make an operating loss. There’s no surplus to spend.3 -

need to ensure our next signing is a full international, preferably for Italy, Spain etc.addick1956 said:More bad news....two of our shot shy none creative players have been selected for internationals over w/e 4 Sept.
Therefore our only striker who can kick a ball at the goal and our only LB left standing will not be available for at least one game, barring injuries!
We have fuck all of a first XI and 2 more will be absent.
I didn't think any of ours would be of that quality.
What a joke . We lose players we can't afford to lose
Absolute zero.

No matter how many times its repeated it never seems to sink in. To cover, just cover, the operational loss we would need to sell about 20,000 seasons tickets at an average price of about £400. Then we can start paying the players wages.Airman Brown said:

Not signing a left back already is criminal. However, what’s worse, far worse, is not looking to replace Aneke and his goals. How on earth can you expect to get into the top 6 when you don’t even look to replace your top scorer and most impactful player. It’s absolutely criminal.
Failure to bring in a left back is bad enough. Failure to replace Aneke is saying you’re naive and stupid enough to think you can be successful.46 -

Stockley is/was the Aneke replacement. Aneke managed 15 goals across a whole season, Stockley got 8 in a half season.Sage said:Not signing a left back already is criminal. Not denying we are still a body light though. We need someone to replace those Stockley goals. And ideally not wait until January to bring them in.12 -

Stockley was never the replacement for Aneke. We wanted both to be at the club, Aneke chose to move to The Championship.Callumcafc said:

The fact is, we haven’t replaced him and his impact and we most certainly won’t find someone this late in the window that will.
Stockley and Aneke are different players, quite simply Aneke is a better player who has struggled with fitness/minutes for a number of reasons.
We missed out on the play-offs when we had Stockley and Aneke. We haven’t got a hope in hell when we only have Stockley.39
