Squad doesn’t look to bad, where would people say our biggest weaknesses are?
Middle of the park, or centre half?1 -

Shame Gallagher was stuck at West brom chasing shadows all season really as if he'd been at a half decent team he might have put himself in contention. Also big shame Loftus-cheek has stagnated so badly.1 -

I'd go with:
Pickford, Henderson, Johnstone
Trent, Walker, Trippier
Chilwell, Shaw
Stones, Maguire, Mings, Godfrey
Rice, Henderson, Phillips, Bellingham
Foden, Mount, Grealish, Sterling, Sancho, Rashford
Kane, DCL
Can't choose between Saka, Greenwood or Lingard for the final spot, edging towards Saka.0 -

If Phillips isn't fit (and especially with Henderson injured), who is the back-up to Rice?
Could he play TAA there after the comments he made earlier?
Ramsdale, Watkins, Saka, James, JWP, Lingard and White miss out I reckon if all fit.
I like Saka though given his versatility, and I'd actually be tempted to take JWP - given the 25th, 26th man etc isn't that likely to really be much more than a back-up, why not take JWP as a "chuck him on for 20mins when you need a goal and hope we get a free kick near the box" player.0 -
i’d take Greenwood, I think he could be our best option off the bench if we find ourselves chasing a game. After Kane, I’d say he’s the next best natural finisher. If everyone is fit, I’d leave the following out...
Ramsdale
Trippier
Godfrey
Coady
Saka
Ward-Prowse
Watkins0 -

Trippier should definitely go. He's just won La Liga and will be one of the only experienced heads there. Compared to Trent for example:

Most people are saying we have a great chance and we should reach at least the semi finals (which on paper we should). But then if we win our group we're likely to face one of France or Portugal in the next round.

That France squad has no real weakness (maybe Sissoko), they're world champions for a reason........and they've added Benzema.0
-
Goalkeeper
Sissoko
Full backs
We beat them in the Final!
Only three players in the Champions League final possibly (and only one starter)
How many England squad players in the same game.....

SELR_addicks said:Right but you're basically looking for a Kane replacement in the team. We are playing for Kane's skillsets.
Calvert-Lewin is a lot closer to Kane than Bamford.
Bamford benefits from a great system around him focusing on a high press and very fast transitions. Outside of that he's a tidy footballer but not someone that stands out leading a line.

The the Right backs - I would be surprised if he took all 4. Tripper can cover left back as well, and Walker on the right side of 3 cb’s.0

If we could swap France or Portugal's midfield , we'd walk the tournament , we've not got a all round good enough squad , hopefully other countries will have deficiencies / pick up injuries.0
-
It's not always the best squad on paper that wins though, Greece in 2004 & Portugal in 2016 prove that.

I make those two favourites though!! Maybe Belgium up there too.0

As much as that Portugal squad is good, I’d still only take Fernandes, Ronaldo and Dias.
Maybe Silva if he was down as a CM.0 -
I've said before but when you look at the age of some of the players too, France and Portugal could realistically win the next 4 or 5 tournaments between them.0

Good to see confidence is flowing.
Cant wait for this, our final will be that last 16 game. Win that and we're on our way.4 -
Obviously no question that he'll be in the squad, and quite likely Southgate will start him as he's a favourite, but how bad was Rashford last night? So off form.3
-
Front 3 should be Foden-Kane-Sancho. Rashford way off the starting XI imo4

It'll be Foden-Kane-Sterling/Sancho, can't see Rashford starting.
