Who are this Derby County that people speak of?
Do they mean Wayne Rooney's Derby County?6 -

Congratulations to Lee Bowyer on another win.
I thought they would be relegated, they looked hopeless & he's turned them round with unbeaten automatic promotion form. Marvellous achievement.

Definitely want Wednesday relegated simply because I like going to Hillsborough. Obviously that’d be scuppered if we make it into the play offs and go on to win them but in the event of that I could live with the disappointment of missing out on going to a proper old school ground for the umpteenth time.1

Said from the beginning I thought he’d keep them up.He’s the sort who can create the right siege mentality everyone’s against us and harness it in a good way which he has done brilliantly for brum .
Long term I don’t think he’s got it in him, not that we’ll ever know at Charlton cos loyal Lee Bowyer walked out on us .7 -

Yeah but only after he singlehandedly saved us from going out of business.....9 -
Seeing Birmingham win with late goals after our record at conceding so many late goals under Bowyer really annoys me!
Fair play to him though, he's gone in and kept them up. I never thought any different, his mentality and what he demands was perfect for their situation short-term. Interesting to see what he does next season.8 -

Derby have an argument to join, Derby have won the league (twice) since Tottenham last did
mind you so have Leicester, Blackburn, Leeds, Everton, Villa, Forest and Ipswich1 -

The invitations probably got lost in the post.2 -

Obviously, you can't be offside direct from a throw in - so Birmingham packed the Stoke box, whose defenders dropped back to mark.
Okay, it's going to be a hell of a long throw?
Nope. Watch the Blues defender come forward off the half way line, pick up a short throw in acres of space and drive unchallenged to the edge of the box, then lay the ball back to the advancing thrower ...... who crosses for the headed goal.
Never seen that tactic before. And it worked handsomely.

He's had a remarkable start though, good for him. I still wish he had left us sooner.0 -
Someone might be able to prove me wrong here as I dont know the background setup @ Birmingham but what interests me most with Bowyer there this summer is how he copes in the transfer market.
Felt that Bowyer and Gallen would work so well together because the latter would go out finding the players and then Bowyer would use his name and experience to lure them to the club - Is there a Gallen type person already at Birmingham or is Bowyer pretty much going to have to both roles...? - Of course Lee had input into players coming into the club, it wasnt a repeat of Powell having players show up during the Roland era but at the same time I imagine it was Gallen who filtered out the shite before making certain player suggestions.1 -
Huh. Bowyer scratching around with 1-0 wins while we knock six past teams.11

Our first 5 results under Bowyer were:
D 0-0
W 2-0
W 4-0
W 3-1
D 1-1
Our results since Adkins took charge have been:
D 2-2
W 1-0
W 2-1
D 0-0
W 6-0
So they are nigh on identical. These were our next and final eight results that first season under Bowyer:
L 1-0
L 1-0
W 2-0
W 1-0
W 1-0
L 1-0
L1-0
L 1-0
Those results summed up our strength when things were going well under Bowyer and weakness when they weren't - hard to beat when we were in front but couldn't get back in the game when we were losing. It's the reason we failed to win from going behind for so longs. Our unbeaten run earlier this season produced similar results:
D 0-0
W 1-0
W 1-0
W 2-0
W 2-0
W 2-0
W 3-2
And if we look at Bowyer since he joined Birmingham we see much the same:
W 3-1
L 3-0
W 1-0
D 0-0
W 2-0
W 1-0
Even in our promotion season we were hardly prolific and feared for our ability to destroy teams - we only won three times from 49 games by more than two goals and only scored more than two in 90 minutes on half a dozen of those occasions.
One swallow last night doesn't mean that we are going to win every game by a cricket score but I believe that we are less predictable under Adkins than we were under Bowyer and it is that which has meant that we are now capable of beating both the good and ordinary sides in this division. Equally , last night demonstrated that you do not have to rely on one or two goal scorers if midfielders are allowed to make the right runs to support the attack.
Bowyer will continue to etch out results at Birmingham and keep them up. Whether he can take them forward from there will depend on three things - learning from his mistakes so far as the handling of players is concerned, being allowed to spend some money on decent signings to strengthen the squad and a second and alternative way of playing.

Last summer Birmingham brought in a lot of players, using the Bellingham money (and presumably using much of it to cover the losses). You imagine things will be much tighter this summer without that windfall0

Lyle starting for Forest tonight.
Maybe argued his case that he has a point or two to make to Bow ?3 -

LB is going to be feeling very smug at the moment.

Both teams playing at St Andrews this season look safe.
The opposite of Barry Fry's gypsy curse0 -

Birmingham won't go down though0 -
Saw the equalising pen on 90+8 and assumed it was Taylor and he’d taken 8 minutes to walk up to the ball. Was happy when I saw it was Grabs.6

An LB team letting in a last minute equaliser.
some things never change.....10
