Not blaming Grant but was just surprised at how good an actor he is. I used to think Danny Dyer was a bit of a plank but he's actually very funny and a smart guy. His podcast on Spotify makes me laugh.Carter said:
In total fairness he was hired to play himself and that sold film tickets. Man had bills to pay and brasses don't pay for themselveshoof_it_up_to_benty said:
Comic timing is superb. He was wasted in some of his earlier roles.Carter said:Hugh Grant is an excellent actor, awesome comic timing and can properly act
Same with Danny Dyer, a guy at work saw him in a pinter play and said he stole the show but pays his bills by being Danny the nortee geezer. Sadly Tim Sherwood has stole a lot of those roles now0 -
I am going to give it a go, based on your view. Seen everyone raving about it on Twitter so just confirms it with the other reviews on here. CL is a good source for recommendations mostly.Carter said:Hugh Grant is an excellent actor, awesome comic timing and can properly act1 -
I haven't seen the TV programme mate that isnt my recommendation!
I think to appreciate Hugh Grant as an actor watch About a Boy and The Gentlemen1 -
Just finished The Undoing. It was good in parts and the acting was decent. I just found it a bit all too predictable and another drama with a weak ending. Have writers run out of new ideas?0

Hugh Grant was great years ago in 'An awfully big adventure', he was also very good in that film about the bad opera singer, and the series about Thorpe.
Hiding away underneath the actor very often employed to be himself is an actor who can act.0 -
I think i misread that one lol , cheersCarter said:I haven't seen the TV programme mate that isnt my recommendation!

I quite enjoyed it but I found Nicole Kidman's overly worked on face a bit off putting. The ending was actually one of my favourite things about the show.ValleyGary said:Just finished The Undoing. Yes, agree about the ending - thought it was pretty well done.SantaClaus said:

Unlike Ms Kidman’s forehead, which has been seriously over done.1 -
Bosch is excellent, I highly recommend the books too if you’re into readingjohnny73 said:Just finished season one of Bosch. Very good so far.1 -
I watched series 5 recently on CinemaHDPragueAddick said:DNA on BBC 4 was very good, as @bolloxbolder said it was. It's Danish, but has a great deal to say about Polish attitudes to abortion (which have become more of a story since the series was made).
I seem to be stumped trying to get Series 5 of the Bureau. It seems I cannot just rent it off Amazon, I have to subscribe to Prime. I don't need or want Prime. Is there another way? (I cannot even find an illegal stream yet)0 -

A very good series. Love how it highlights Rome toocarly burn said:Just smashed through the last series of Suburra.
Usual high octane violence and double crossing that rumbles along.
One thing that came to me whilst watching this one is that I haven't seen a single copper in any episode over the three series!
Anyone else who has watched it will know how preposterous that is.0 -
Started watching the latest Star Trek series - a bit pro BLM! Graphics are far better than the script and acting imo.
Still mesmerised by 'The Queen's Gambit'. Series of the year for me.1 -
Will do. Finished the TV show. And feel I'm going to struggle to find a quality replacement.Charlton_Road_James said:

Thanks for this tip. Never heard of it, so started to investigate, looks like its basically an Android app - it required me to install the extension in Chrome, but now it also wants me to download an Android emulator. (I use all Apple stuff, btw). But I'll persevere...Charlton_Road_James said:

Big Mouth S4 on Netflix almost got back to the obscene levels of S1. Definitely an improvement on the past 2 years.1

Just started watching 'The Trials of Oscar Pistorius' on IPlayer- a fascinating examination of the trial and his life leading up to it.1

Watched that too. Completely changed my original opinion on the whole thing.hoof_it_up_to_benty said:Just started watching 'The Trials of Oscar Pistorius' on IPlayer- a fascinating examination of the trial and his life leading up to it.

Having watched all of it I don't think they proved murder beyond reasonable doubt. The defence Pistorius gave was bizarre and I'm not really clear why his lawyer went for this.suzisausage said:

He certainly seems a pretty troubled individual.0 -

I think William Zabka mentioned earlier in the year that S3 was going to be like S1 and S2 on steroidsLonelyNorthernAddick said:ForeverAddickted said:Official Trailer for Cobra Kai season three coming in a few weeks (5th January)

Should be on the coincidences thread but was honestly watching D3 last night wondering where they were with the TV Series as seem to remember that Disney+ were planning something for it - Cobra Kai is a great benchmark in a way for the Mighty Ducks to carry on the legacy1
