Welcome Omar, hope you do well for us. Glad we've also got a week to integrate you with the squad, which is a plus

10 goals in last three years in total. Though Bogle and Aneke up top will at least bully a few centre back partnerships!

Love TS’ comments in that article. So supportive of Bowyer and Gallen. Great to read.

Posted it on the other thread, but I'm glad the tradition of writing off players before they've kicked a ball in a Charlton shirt continues

4 in 12 for Pompey at this level, last time he played at this level.  Yeah probably shit isn't he.

He's a horses for courses sort of player to get us out of the division. Hopefully he will be able to bully defences and hold up the ball and lay it off to allow our midfield that is streaming into the penalty area to put them away. As well as creating chance after chance for the quick no9 that we are about to sign .......

tends sometimes to be invisible .. BUT on his day a right handful .. welcome Omar and all the very best during your time with CAFC

As an aside, I always prefer a proper signing rather than an untried and untested young loanee .. Bogle is potentially a decent incomer and he has a year to make a name for himself after a couple of wayward seasons

Was also posted on the Summer Transfer thread, but his chant is quality (blur are my favourite band and my username is taken from one of their songs):

Biggest shame is, on a 1 year deal, will we ever get to sing it to him......  :'(
  • Welcome to The Valley Omar. Give you all and you will do fine here. Am hoping that the next striker will have plenty of pace as think we lack raw pace down the middle.

    Oh, and some good news:

He passes the CL height test. 6'3".

    Whelmed.

    Bonne for Bogle?

I'm okay with this I guess. Though very similar to Aneke, can you imagine playing in defence up against those two?

Could work out to be a very good signing and someone we rotate Aneke with... Just as Bogle goes off and the CB's sigh in relief on comes the younger version...

Nice to see that Leko was bigging up the club to him, and I'm guessing there'll have been some contact between Jacko and Chris Powell about him. I have no clue whether he's any good, but am prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Tosser Taylor was a journeyman player until Bower & JJ turned him into a polished player, all being well they will do similar to Bogle.

A good number suggested he was a possibility. (He was also on my list)

    The Gaffer sounds happy enough:

"Lee Bowyer has been searching for a striker that fits the way he wants to play for much of the summer and was delighted to be able to complete the signing.

He said: “It’s a position we needed to strengthen, so I’m over the moon with Omar’s signing. He’s good at everything, his all-around game as a striker is really good and we’ll improve him, which we do with all our players. He will be a very good striker in this division."

Taylor was a journeyman striker, aged 27/8 who joined us and that turned out alright (until the end). Let's give the guy a chance...
I don’t disagree, but...in the three years before he joined us Taylor had scored 44 goals and was in demand. Bogle has scored 6 goals in that timeframe and was without a team until a month or so into the season.

Given that we’ve only given him a one year deal I’d guess that we’re treating this as a bit of a gamble rather than thinking this is the man that we’re pinning all our hopes on. More of a Chris Dickson signing than a Lyle Taylor in my eyes.

I’m sorry but what with him, Washington & Gunter, it’s just as well I can’t get to the Valley.

    😜😜😜

    Swoooooooooooooooooooooon 😍😍😍
With all this rain we don't need anyone adding to the waterlogged pitches.

(and I can't believe I am hitting 'Post Comment' on this - Thank god flags are gone)
