Was at Anthony Honeyballs owners/press day on Sunday and had a really interesting and intelligent conversion with a lady who owns 17 horses and has them with Nichols,Hobbs,Fry,Barber and Honeyball.She is also involved with Animal Welfare,Racing Welfare and Moorecroft who take in injured and retired racehorses to re train for many many other great organisations.She has no issues with the whip and no it doesn’t hurt and blames the BHA rules for making the whip seem worse than it is as it fuels the protesters by keep seeing jockeys banned for miss use,she added the number of times used shouldnt be in place.Also she would never own a horse that has raced as a two year old as they are not mature enough to race at that age plus feels the National is unfair.Here stance is to never attend a meeting with a two year old race or any racing at Aintree or her horses run there.She does go racing four to five days a week.But as she said they are her views and that’s her stance but would never tell anyone to act the same or try to ruin anyone else’s enjoyment in the things she disagrees with.Also mentioned a few trainers she would never have a horse with due to there training methods and the one point that surprised me most was that she said National Hunt racing is far better and safer for horses than flat racing in her opinion through all what she knows and has experienced.It was a real breath of fresh air to have such an open and friendly conversation with her.Now I know you want to know the future winners rather than my above waffle..............so here goes
Anthony believes his two best handicapped horses and he feels he has plenty in hand to work with are

He is also aiming to win the veterans chase final at Sandown next year and he has three horses to aim at it including one I own Mystical Knight plus a certain Alan Dugdale from here has a share in too5 -

That’s not a jump imo. Jumps through the tall furns which is surely marks the outside of the fence, or do they class the white plastic as the outside of the fence?0

The fence isn’t clearly defined, it’s open to interpretation apparently but stewards decided while the taller edge is ‘fence’ the white wings are for guidance only and are not part of the fence.
they decided the winner ‘jumped’ the fence while the horse that followed didn’t.

Re. Use of a modified whip. Following an incident at Chelmsford in September, jockey Danny Brock was fined £140 - and banned for seven days - for 'marking a horse' (i.e. causing weals) with a whip which had two elastic bands wound around its tip. Why would a jockey feel the need to do such a thing?
Reports indicate that an investigation might be active regarding unusual betting patterns. "The BHA cannot comment on ongoing investigations or speculation surrounding possible investigations."
Resurrected was initially rated at 100-1. Odds later came down to 25-1. The horse started at 10-1. She won by half a length. Hmmm....

Brock, who said last week he feared for his career owing to the furore over the incident, has already served his seven-day ban but whether Monday’s publication finally draws a line underneath it remains to be seen.
The betting patterns surrounding the race, in which Resurrected improved to win having finished unplaced in three previous starts this year, were not considered by the panel but may yet prove to be the subject of a BHA investigation.
The BHA has also said it will consider the current penalties both for marking a horse (with a regulation whip) and for the use of a modified whip, on the grounds that these do not “seem sufficient”.

They're doing early bird grandstand entry for £18 on the Friday it will be dearer on the day, probably £24 or so. If you're over 60 you can £5 discount on the day.
Grandstand for the Saturday is £31.50 so be about £37/38 on the day.

We were going Friday until the month long industrial action on South West trains began this week.
Can't be bothered with the possibility of waiting hours for trains there and back.
