And that's a lovely prep for the Arc for Enable. She's been beautiful to watch in her career.
What a day. I haven’t been close to a winner but that doesn’t matter - I was in the paddock with Kerry Lee with a couple of trainers badges - we blagged it really. If you were watching, Kerry was the one in bright pink next to a handsome guy! Up close with Enable and Frankie. Gosden and O’Brien.
Enable knows how how good she is - a real diva. But what a magnificent mare.
How's this for horse racing shooting itself in the foot?
In the Ripon 2.30 Amity Island is 1st past the post and beats Knightly Spirit by a nose. Following a Steward's Enquiry the placings are reversed.
However, the jockey on Amity Island receives no punishment because any interference is deemed accidental whereas the pilot on Knightly Spirit receives a 2 day ban for using his whip above the permitted level.
So we have a situation where the result is altered for something that was accidental whereas connections of the ultimate winner have been rewarded for deliberately breaking the rules via the actions of the jockey employed by them.
Can anyone recommend a useful hints & pointers site/app? ive had a bit of recent success looking at and backing some longest travellers recently (cue barren spell) but both yesterday and today, the 365 and skybet sites are giving names of horses that aren’t due to run?

Tipping service or for racecards?
If the latter then Sporting Life and ATR are still your best ports of call. If the former, then there's several good free ones - off the top of my head:
I recommend the Northern Gamblers podcast as well, and then the likes of Rory Delargy; Ben Linfoot; Hugh Taylor (though prices collapse when he backs something); and Simon Rowlands (sectionals/times guru) are probably my favourite racing guys to follow.

I don't see an issue here despite, on the face of it, slightly contradictory. The whip rule is purely welfare of the horse, whether it made the difference to winning or not is subjective. They can't punish the trainer or the punter, only the Jockey

Not after tipping. just confused as to why skysports and 365 are giving the 3 longest travellers today yet they aren’t on the racecards. was the same yesterday. http://bet365.365dm.com/racing/form/pointers

It is called "the persuader" for a reason. And the extra or, as in this case, higher crack of the whip might have been the one that made the difference. The ruling of the Stewards is purely subjective as they cannot definitively prove that interference made a difference.
It is uncanny how many times top jockeys receive bans at big meetings (or when the money is down). There is a reason for that.

it's quite rare for stewards to reverse placings so usually it would be an obvious call
You can't punish the punter if a horse has won fair and square but the jockey was a little over exuberant with the whip. The rule is solely for the welfare of horses and entirely down to the jockey if abused
the 30,000 horses in training in Australia what would they do if they were not racing? genuine question @Anna_Kissed in fairness instead of a usual nonsense post this is loosely linked to horse racing although not the sport itself but some silly concert.

.....and it’s aroused the interest of a whopping 16 people apparently.
It's not even Cheltenham Festival or Grand National and his crept out of his hole again interfering with other people's interests. Go and talk about Taylor Swift on your vegan thread

Quite right as well. He had absolutely zero need to use it.

Death
Stradivarius wins
What a horse Strad is
Had the Stradivarius, Threat and Battaash treble (very sorry to dat and not tip), as a nicely sized free bet. Pays for a cheeky drink.

Off to Goodwood tomorrow on a stag. Never been there before so looking forward to it. Really fancy Skardu.
