Some of the comments at the end of the New Zealand game, including mine, not looking too good now! 😁

Besides the poor performance, that has made me realise Rugby will never be on the same level as football in terms of entertainment.
If you were a neutral who decided to watch that game, you wouldn’t have enjoyed it. And it was a World Cup final! I can’t remember the last boring World Cup final for football. 2018 there were 6 goals, 2014 there was a late winner, 2010 there was a late winner, 2006 it went to penalties. I could carry on.
Football will always be the better sport11 -

Boks aren't pretty but head and shoulders above us on the day.0 -

My worry though is that South Africa will try and make this an ugly, stop start match as it's their best chance of victory.0 -

Or, better still, agree that sometimes a team brilliantly executing a defensive plan in a sport can result in a match that's less than pleasing to the eye of a non-fan.
Or, maybe tell the fans of the other three top-finishing countries and the hosts that "football will always be the better sport".0 -
imagine if we’d lost like that to the Welsh , see it ain’t so bad
said to my boys
dont be greedy
Won the play offs last kick of game
won the cricket World Cup miraculously
Essex won t20 blast and the league
dont be greedy rugby matters the least .
personally , I was forced to play rugby (instead of football) at school and hated it with a passion and wanted us to lose in 2003 .
My hatred has disappeared since my boys started playing it at school and are in to it , so I’ve got in to it a bit and was desperate for us to win , so I had a mare again !4 -
I'm looking forward to Maro Itoje lifting the trophy in Paris in 2023.2

From the most complete sporting performance I think I have ever seen by anybody other than T Woods in the 98 Masters, to a disorganised bunch of muppets in the space of seven days. As disappointing as it is extraordinary.
Pressure and expectation did for England in the end.3 -
Some disappointed people on here this morning. Understandably.
But just think how awful it would have been if we played like that and had lost to Wales.
With that in mind, this really isn't that bad!4 -
That was proper shit2

How Daly has stayed on that field is incredible.
We lost that game in the scrum. The South African tries came when we were chasing the game in footballing parlance.

Awful. Ah well, back to the football.0

Hated the result, but seeing black South Africans celebrating their country winning at rugby was quite inspirational

Most spectators don't understand what's happening and even the commentators can't call it because they can't actually see what's happening! So we just have to accept what the referee sees from a few yards away.
No real problem with that but it doesn't make it the best thing to watch on TV on a wet Saturday morning!

What point are you making? Were there many black England fans or political leaders?0 -

No complaints, completely outplayed, out fought and out thought.
Gutting after last week, but SA were excellent and we were terrible, everything we did was executed poorly, everything.
No denying losing Sinclair was a huge blow but it happens, you have to be able to adapt.
Two positives:
1. It wasn’t against Wales
2. Unlike 2003, this team are not at their peak yet. And last week showed the potential.

I had a nasty feeling this would happen, that game is what South Africa use to win and when they get it right they are hard to play against. Kicked absolutely everything and played for penalties which is completely fair enough but creates games like that which will have turned off all the casual watchers who will have gone down the pub this morning expecting a game like last week
We can be really really proud of what this England team have achieved, we have some phenomenal players showing signs of being genuine contenders playing in the English premier division and this experience is going to help rather than harm players like Slade, Farrell, Sinckler, May, Curry, Underhill assuming they don't get any really nasty injuries
I'm gutted especially after hiw well we played last week and especially for players like Farrell and Ford who were at the last world cup failure and who have embraced everything Eddie Jones has told them to do4 -
