  • Been an entertaining watch this, which is rare when Wales are involved!

Quite often decent games (if a bit pointless) as there's no pressure and teams just go for it.
  • 40-17 FT.
Is this an indication of the strengths of the 2 semi finals !? Lets Hope.
However, tomorrow is just another game of 2 different styles, just think England can also play the physical stuff to SA's level too- and can also be more expansive when required.

    No arm wrestle today.
Both teams played attacking rugby and New Zealand did what they do in 90% of matches and crush their opponents.
Wales peaked in the 6 nations.

England's win in the semi final was one of the best in any sport I have seen by a England team. This young side won't peak for a couple more years if Curry, Underhill,Itoje, sinckler etc stay fit.

South Africa will try to stifle England but Jones and coaches will try to be one step ahead. I can see a red card in the final.

My nature won't let me get over confident.
    In Eddie Jones we trust.

Spot on. The saffers are a one trick pony (a good trick though) whereas England can change their style of play to suit the opposition.

I would also have Jones ahead of Erasmus in terms of tactical nous.

    That said, I'm still nervous.

    Yep me too (nervous).
Jones is way ahead of Erasmus in the tactical stakes, and the Saffers here (Cape Town) acknowledge that too, whilst also obviously being very appreciative of how Erasmus has dragged them from the gutter in the past 2 years, but they acknowledge they only have one way that they have played in the last 2 years, and breaking out of that for this game would be a disaster.
As Matt Dawson says, if England get 8 points ahead, then SA will have to change and they wont have the nous or skill or experience to do that.

Well, all my kids have deserted me for tomorrow, as they go off and watch it with their mates - embarassed to be around their English dad just in case i get a bit lary and cause a ruck and a maul in the pub, but boy, do i need us to stuff SA to stick it up the Saffers here else i am going to hibernate next week. Havnt got an England shirt here, so will be wearing my lucky Charlton AllSports shirt from the play-off final and rugby semi-final, along with my lucky pink foam pig.

Swing Low may be echoing around Constantia circa 15.00 tomorrow.
  • Been excited up until watch the 3rd place playoff, now i'm absolutely terrified
  • I'm nervous because I'm old enough to watch favourites in finals get beaten.
Holland losing to West Germany in 74, Liverpool losing to a mouthy Wimbledon and Leeds and Man United losing to Sunderland and Southampton respectively.
In Rugby maybe not as often but Japan have had amazing victories over SA 4 years ago and Ireland in this WC.
South Africa have a lot of nous, and our young players must keep calm under the power struggle with the Springboks.
I'm convinced Ben Young's will receive a big hit early doors. Spencer the replacement for Heinz may well get on earlier than expected.
We must do the same to the wee blond dynamo Faf De Klerk. England have the Talent and Variety in their game to win.
May the TMO favour us for a change.

19-10 would be a fine score in a final. As would winning by 1 point with a pen or a drop goal.

Ps. More favourites win than lose, quite a lot more so why should this final be different.  o:)>:)
  • Good man Sam, thanks for the re-assurance.
  • Tomorrow morning i am walking down to Pastis bar/resto at 9am (11am game starts here) - and the first thing i am doing is ordering a Full English Breakfast. Has to be done.

I wonder what other novel ingredients will be in your breakfast?
  • Whilst we are deserved favourites, we know that South Africa can beat us on their day.

  • Hope we get the perfect start like the semi. Feeling nervy now.
  • So many things that could go wrong. Yellow /Red cards. Missed kicks dropped goals etc. Given a fair wind we will win. Bring it on. Come on England.

  • Not sure I'd fancy queuing for 4-5 hours to get into Boxpark Croydon! Not for a 9am kickoff
  • C’mon England
  • A lot of collective pant wetting going on. Calm down everyone. England will win this reasonably comfortably if they turn up.
  • SA looked pretty nervous in the national anthems. A quick start for England could be on the cards again
  • Sparko.

    Not good
  • Looks like it was Lawes who inadvertently took Sinckler out. Nasty. I can’t believe there aren’t more of this sort of injury in the game given the amount of heavy contact.
  • They havent showed many replays but i still couldnt see how he got knocked out?
  • Good to see Sinckler up and about. Cole might actually be a better bet in this game so long as he can last effectively 80 minutes
  • very ragged - need to sort this out.
  • Boks definitely the better side at the moment
