    We dominated them for an hour and then stopped playing. They didn't win it, we handed it to them on a plate.

    There is no shame in going out to a team with better, more experienced players who put in a very good performance. I'm gutted. I know there's going to be a lot of upset reactions tonight, but in the cold hard light of day this is the third youngest team at the tournament with a lot of players on the up who now have experience winning group and knockout games. This is not the end, this is the beginning.

    I am very critical of how a lot of English players are coached from a young age, how the focus on possession and tactical awareness isn't fostered nearly enough, how physicality and "passion" is put above footballing ability, and the fact that England simply doesn't have enough coaches. But that's not why they're out tonight. They're out because they were beaten by a better team.

    In a World Cup semi-final. Well done to this group.

    To make it worse, I can’t think of any Croatian cars that I can go out and smash up. Pity, next door’s Renault was going to get ruined if we’d made it to the final.

    Thought ref was very very poor, he has history with English clubs.

    Gutting we couldn't put it away first half. They deserved it after that and could have won earlier.

    Did well considering the team we had, people like Pickford, Maguire and Tripper have been quality. Just such a shame to be so close...

    It is slightly soul destroying that Kane hit the post from a yard out. We were pretty poor from 60 mins onward and we got what we deserved off an opportunistic Croatia side. Would rather have lost heroically against an excellent France side but Croatia have sucker-punched their way to the final and you can't knock their efficiency when the opportunities present themselves. Feels a bit flat now as we were so poor but it's been a good run

    We wont do it and we never will, we were completely outplayed in the second half by a nation of 4 million people. I am sorry but this nation cannot win a tournament and never will. Back to the grind of being so fed up with football! Hand it to them on a plate and they still fuck it up. Bless!!

    I suspect France wins the Final either 1-0 or 2-0 in a snoozefest finale to a GREAT World Cup.
