Oh no I was just gonna use the new email address I guess that's another year before someone answers0

Can this get any more embarrassing for the club? Met her once and she came across well. Good luck Mel, you've done the right thing.0
-
Now do I lead with this in tomorrow's email to Katrien or the fact that I was alerted (on another thread) that Roland temporarily mended a pair of shoes with some duc/masking tape.....

East Kent Addicks had a meeting last week ?bellz2002 said:Utter respect to Mel for resigning from this complete shambles of a club / regime. She came to East Kent Addicks last week (yes I know cue the, understandable imo, comments about lack of notes ) and I echo what others said about her Bromley visit.
She was forthcoming and brave to take any comments or questions about communication from both before her time and since. She also spoke privately to anyone who was concerned / had any pertinent issues they wanted discussing.
She is very genuine and I was very hopeful. But no. Roland and KM have made her resign (through their actions) and that is disgraceful.
Katrien and Roland, please realise that you are in the extreme minority. The whole world can't be wrong.
Kept that quite.
All jokes aside, Thank You Mel for all you've done.
Seriously shows up the Regime for what they are.1 -
Did they ever let us know she'd started on the os?RodneyCharltonTrotta said:Would be good if CARD could get an interview with her although she may be reluctant to speak badly of them for fear of being classed a bitter ex employee.
Resignation speaks volumes anyway.
Have the club put out a statement about it yet lolz1 -
Complete respect to her for that. Career wise, she realised this was/is a car crash and when her boss insisted on something so appalling being released then her position was untenable if she was to have credibility in her profession.
That should send a clear message to the wider world that the gang of three occupy a crazy world only they understand or like.1 -
Our full time Head of Communications lasted considerably less time than our interim manager. Go figure.Briston_Addick said:
Is that all? It's not even long enough to warrant the title "interim".seth plum said:46 days.

The more you think about it, the more this is an absolute PR 'nightmeire' for the club.
A club that had completely screwed up all communication channels with the fans hires a new head of Comms who starts the role very decently.
They then go over her head and she resigns.
We could not have scripted it more perfectly

It would appear chaps, that the last 5 days have firmly put the club in crisis mode. A few more blows and I think they're done, and fortunately for us, we can potentially count on them to provide the blows themselves now.8

Was just going to suggest to her that I heard she was a decent person and that it would not do her career any good staying in her current post while RD and KM acted as they did. She obviously thought the same.ricky_otto said:What exactly did you say when you emailed her Redman?

If they truly are squash partners, then you would've thought Ms Tongue would've given Katrien a slight nudge at the damage her reputation is taking by continuing this charade.shirty5 said:1 -
I'd put the next edition on the back burner Airman every time you go to put it together there's another 'hold the back page' moment. Take a holiday and come back to it in a week's timemistrollingin said:Voice of the Valley must write itself these days Airman

someone should tell @tonguetweets that a young woman trying to make a career in football has been driven out by an old man ignoring her professional ability in what seems a very sexist way.shirty5 said:34 -
Airman - how about an interview with Mel for VoTV, if she resigned she won't have a compromise agreement to silence her views ?3

Okay, can't be bothered to go back to all threads mentioning "Our" Mel:
Own up, who was it who threatened to take Her out on a date one night ?
See what you done. .........0 -
Just seen this headline & read none of the posts but have to say, I'm gobsmacked by this news.
I didn't meet Mel in her short time at the Club but had favourable reports from Ian regarding her appearance at Bromley Addicks recently.
I now fear for the future of ANY decent employees who do their utmost to preserve a degree of decency & sanity in the Machiavellian goings on behind the scenes of our club.
I mentioned 2 names in the POTY thread : Felicity (Fizz) Waller & Joe Bridges .Both are well intentioned young people with a desire to help us, the fans who are organising this event , in every way possible. They are totally appreciative of the situation we find ourselves in and have given us every indication that they will help us in any way they can.
They are a breath of fresh air and following this news today, I fear for their future at our Club. Surely they can do better elsewhere?
Seems to me that anyone who dares to question what's happening, is given short shrift & is told "Take it or leave it. This is RD's way ". No room for being creative or having one iota of common sense, it seems.
Increasingly sad & worrying times at OUR club.13 -

After this latest humiliation Meire must be on the brink. If not her own resignation/sacking then being signed off due to stress can't be far off, surely.
Congratulations to Mel on leaving the madhouse and to CARD in forcing the issue with Sunday's events.16 -

Put a "like" on your post, as in I like the contents, not what happened.Fanny Fanackapan said:Just seen this headline & read none of the posts but have to say, I'm gobsmacked by this news.

I fear that they're like Homer Simpson in the episode where he becomes a boxer, their only ability is to take blows and not be too fussed.LuckyReds said:It would appear chaps, that the last 5 days have firmly put the club in crisis mode. As for Mel quitting, probably a good move, and one done on principle. That being said, there were some who singled her out for criticism during the last two statements, which I thought was silly. The Sunday statement is exactly what you'd expect. It's for the media, it's milquetoast, but her job is Press and Media relations (or something to that effect). Obviously, she could do nothing about Tuesday. My point is, she shouldn't just be congratulated for quitting, she should be congratulated for trying her best, then quitting when her position clearly became untenable (This isn't directed at you Lucky, though I think I made a similar point after quoting you on The Statement thread, neither were directed at you).3 -
Who was it on here that knows her personally?0
