Apology means nothing as a mistake like this should never be made over such a sensitive matter. This really does sum up our club at the moment under this regime.

Absolute embarrassment from top to bottom, shame on all of you involved.

Was that a cafc employee blaming the students? Are they not supervised or do they have free reign over what they can put on the big screen?
  • Very very sad. This should have been a day of remembrance for a player who served both clubs.

Difficult to blame the lad simply because someone in the know should have checked the photo. But there are very few now at the Club in the know apart from say Keith Peacock. Perhaps THEY were too embarrassed to ask. THEY will be more embarrassed now that it has made national news.

But, let's face it, THEY really won't care. Because, the infrastructure that was made up of people who did care has all but gone.
  • Blame a student! Who was supervising.
    A disgrace.

How comes JBG and Texeira were not wearing black armbands like the rest of the players?

Nice one Olly. Throw the work experience lad under the bus! Does he get an apology too?

That's an absolute disgrace. Unforgivable really.

I feel genuinely sorry for anyone that's forked out alot of money for a season ticket. It's easy for someone like me who only goes every now and then and has other commitments. These morons are royaly fucking up peoples Saturdays and it ain't on.
  • The more I think about the original comment, the more annoyed I am that some students volunteering got thrown under the bus on here.

    Disgrace.

I suspect Olly's post was a little more in exasperation than blame-shifting. He has to deal with the shower of shit running the club day in, day out, in person. I'm inclined to cut him some slack.

But what a bloody screw-up. Wouldn't be surprised if the new head of comms is on the phone to her old employer asking if her old job is still going...

No he fucked up - end of. It's a simple message to communicate - just admit that the club screwed up and apologise to the family.

No need to mention students at all.

If he really is a saint, then get a new bloody job and get away from the club (your career is far more important than anything). Things like this won't do his CV (or any decent person at CAFC) any good.

No, he is supposed to be a comms professional. Pointing the finger at the unpaid help was a gash move.

I am sure olly was aa embarrassed as the rest of us

Yes it's a disgrace and yes it's a shambles and embarrassing example of what's gone wrong at the club

But it was just a mistake

Absolutely right. We obviously like to look for a stick to beat KM with, but I bet the people at the heart of this were horrified with their mistake. I've been there, and sometimes public outrage can be utterly ridiculous. It may be indicative of bigger problems at the club, but digging Olly and co. out is more about spleen venting than anything.

We're looking into how on earth this happened. As you know, the big screen is done with the help of students, but that cannot be an excuse. An apology will go out at half-time.

If its not an excuse why bring it up? Shambolic.

How many times tonight are you going to use words to the effect of "Olly fucked up"? By my count it's four times, plus a "disgrace" an "annoyed" and a "cockwombles". Even if it's fair to dig him out, this is a bit excessive. Hell, even if it was my relation and they made that mistake, I'd get over it pretty quickly. After all, if we should be realising anything here, it's that life's too short.

Let's face it: a lot of people were delighted this fucked up.
It seems like only yesterday Olly's starfish celebrations spawned a hundred photoshops.

Feel a bit sorry for Only as he seems like a decent sort of fella, but his tweet after the original fuck up wasn't the greatest.

In normal times this sort of embarrassing error could just be shrugged off and put down to one those things. But these ain't normal times.

The club is a fucking shambles from top to bottom. It embarrassing and beyond a joke now.

Incidents like this prove that we dont need constant protests when the club keep digging more holes and the press get another Christmas gift

That's it in a nutshell. Not normal times.
A few years ago, all of us would have looked upon it as a mistake.
Today, it's adds to the fact that most of us think no-one in the club cares anymore.

It was a shocking thing to do, and completely blew my ind that I felt it difficult to join in the applause! I watched both Moore and Campbell play togetehr in the late 60's, had both their autographs and this to me was so embarrassing. There needs to be a complete review - or even an INVESTIGATION! - of what went wrong as you cannot have this sort of thing happening again.

Oh, and who types out the latest scores pages? Forrest??? Huddesfield??? There was another one too that I've forgotten. I know that they were corrected later on, but they should be checked too!

The people running how club have zero interest in the history of our club. We have KM comments on a website a while back saying she does not care about the history of our club, the club have banned one of the Museum Trustees from even writing a column in the programme about the history of our club (according to VOTV), regularly play the music for the history roll before games but without the pictures playing.

An error like this is ridiculous, but only for the club to go one better and have its employee imply nonsense about students being involved.

They have not got a clue.

It is sad in the extreme that if there was to be a mistake, it should be this one.
It is an unavoidable conclusion to reach that probably understaffing, trying to do things on the cheap, expecting staff to do the work of two people anyway would lead to this kind of very sad mistakes.

Perhaps if Katrien were to arrive before, say, 11am on a Saturday afternoon matchday she could actually pitch in and do some actual work. Running a chronological checklist of the events to come, and checking all is in order could probably be done in half an hour, between say 11.30am and noon.

Great player from a golden era remembered like that is a really poor, almost abject error, and I wish a much better hand was on the tiller, or even any hand at all.

RIP Graham, I remember you in your glory, and in your pomp mate.
  • Alan Campbell born 21 january 1948 STILL ALIVE.........

Keith Peacock and Brian Kinsey still attend games and sit in around directors box.Harry Gregory can also be found in the north stand at some games.all ex players who played with Graham Moore.

What the hell is going on at Charlton today.........

Indeed, they bumble from one PR blunder to another, it's pretty much a weekly occurrence. Would the same happen at any other club? No. Would I get away with it in my workplace? No. Morons, arrogant, classless and disrespectful morons. They couldn't run a f'n bath properly.

I thought my eyes weren't deceiving me! Jesus H Christ... what the hell is this stumbling, bumbling, clutz of a club coming too?

ps think today's result just about confirms relegation; with out goal difference we are effectively 7 points adrift. Be honest... can any sane intelligent Addick see us surviving? If so give me your reasons!
