  • The "Andy Delort" bullet has once again been well and truly dodged!!

    PENNANT SIGNS FOR SINGAPORE SIDE

Former Arsenal, Liverpool and Stoke City winger Jermaine Pennant has joined Singapore League side Tampines Rovers.

The 34-year-old has signed up for the 2016 season, with local reports in the Southeast Asian country claiming he is being paid £195,000 per month.

I think the comma is on the wrong place. Most would be 19,5k and even that would be ridiculous for Tampines.

see Brizzle City have offered 1m for Bradley Dack (Gillingham) and Stuart Pearce is firm favourite for the manager position at Ashton Gate.

This site suggests S$45k basic a month, or £22k a month. Nice money by normal standards, but probably near Charlton wages

    WEDNESDAY NEAR BENNETT DEAL

Sky sources are telling us that Sheffield Wednesday are expecting the Aston Villa left-back Joe Bennett at Hillsborough today for a medical.

The 25-year-old has been on loan at Bournemouth this season, but hasn’t featured for the first team.

He'd be a perfect signing on loan for us with our Left-Back issues!!

http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/sheffield-wednesday-bennett-poised-for-owls-switch-1-7682209 - Unless we try to sign the other bloke mentioned in this article?

So what has happened to Wiggins?

No chance. We treated him really poorly when he was here as a kid. No way he'd come back.

Maybe needs to lighten up then and have a laugh a bit more

Bristol City have tabled a bid of £1m for him... Thats way outside of our budget!!

Wasn't a rumour, just replying to Large's post above.

The point I was making is that it would be bad news for us if he goes to Brizzle.

He can pick a pass, has glorious technique and a real eye for goal.

I've watched quite a bit of the Gills in the last year or so.

    One to watch.

  • That's our problem though isn't it. No one at the club has heard of clubs like Gillingham let alone what prospects they might have.

We are in serious trouble yet we are still taking leaps in the dark by looking to sign players from abroad. It's madness.

Awesome news if true about Pearce.

He's clueless and would pretty much guarantee relegation for them.

Just need to get Iain Dowie in at Rotherham and the jobs a good 'un

Been slaughtered by the fans not good enough any more at this level ,
Interesting that he's played just nine games for them - and been on the losing side three times but that was twice to the best team in the division, Middlesboro' and to Stoke in the Capital One Cup.

In his other six games Wednesday only leaked three goals and that included clean sheets at Newcastle and QPR and at home to Birmingham.

Surely he's a better option than Fox? We also no longer have the concern about him getting injured because we can just send him back without any further financial commitment.

Didn't do any harm with Danny Green though. Well I mean, it did obviously, I think Danny might have had the last laugh there. He still signed for us though is what I'm saying.

What exactly did we do to him? You make it sound like we subjected him to child slavery!

They've bid for everyone though. I'm sure they'll bid £50m for Aguero before the end of the window

Dack is mustard!! Who got rid of him?? Can't blame Roland for this one.

If we had the money and bought this guy for £1m from Gillingham then people on here would say why are we spending that sort of money on a League 1 player.

Another club signs that player and we say on here why can't we sign players like that.

I don't agree. I think most people on here would actually be appeased by some real money being shown for a decent player with English league experience. Plus Dack has shown he can do it in League One, so if we do go down we'll have put ourselves in place to bounce back. It would be a totally sensible signing and it would show Roland is willing to spend some of his substantial wealth and is willing to accept that you need players who know the style of football they're coming in to.

Roland has half a billion quid in the bank. I don't care how much he spends on players as long as he brings in the right ones for once.

If we are dipping down a league, the midfielder who scored the Colchester 1st goal against us looked very decent. Ran their midfield. Ran past ours.

The fans behind me were slagging Freddie Sears off something rotten saying he is welcome to go to Ipswich.

If RD lays out lets say £3m for 2/3 more players (maybe including Dack in that), yes its a lot of money, however we are only 4 points off safety and perhaps they will be able to keep us up. The cost of going down is well documented to be a loss of circa £7m at least.
Hence surely it makes sense to spend £3m to save £4m, if the plan doesn't work and we go down then I guess he will be able to sell some of the players if he NEEDS to recoup his money. However with a 1/2 billion fortune we are talking about him speculating with 0.75% of his wealth!! Or put another way, if it was you and I we would be losing .75p out of £100
