So he's a free agent now right? Wonder if he's still got his boots?

Reckon you're spot on. Think he usually matches his annual salary on transfer deadline day, what with all those brown envelopes allegedly heading in his direction.

Worried now though - QPR might try and take Luzon off us....

Makes sense. If he needs a knee operation & it can't wait. Then seems the correct decision.

So having been brought into save the club from relegation, failed in that task despite spending ridiculous amounts of money, fluked his way back into the Prem via a very fortunate playoff win, and then led his side to a magnificent 19 points from 23 games this season I'm amazed that he has resigned. He should have been sacked at least a year ago!

Shit manager only good for taking backhanders really can't see why anyone would employ him

Should have seen him on Sky last night. Looked very unchuffed at not signing anyone. Looks like non league next year.

  • That's better
  • Powell should have waited, he'd have been good over there
  • We all really know what's happened.

RD needs one more manager to join the network pool.
  • Thrown his toys out the pram because he wasn't allowed to risk bankrupting the club on deadline day like he has everywhere else he's ever been!!!

    And the media's darling.
  • All joking aside Redknapp has spent loads of money everywhere he's been and the bump in results he's experienced has been offset by the fact that as soon as he leaves, the clubs he's been at, virtually, end up facing administration or worse.

QPR would, without the financial backing they have, be facing a dire decade with the debts and running costs he's helped them run up. Not to mention the massive fine if FFP ever shows it's teeth when they are relegated.

This by a manager that has pocketed millions and millions of pounds in wages that have been declared. What he has earned that hasn't gone through the books is any body's business, but even if we give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he has never taken a bung, he, sure as hell, took a large payment that was never declared for tax before his court case where, it turned out, both him and his employer thought the other one had declared it and paid the tax on it.

No doubt there will be another club desperate to avoid relegation that will agree to pay him a fortune, over a minimum term that makes no business sense, to get it out of trouble, but surely his days as a top flight manager must be coming to an end!

Too big a job for Powell IMO. Perfect for Curbs though. Would love to see him get back into the game, he deserves it.

Article on the BBC the other day about agents dealing with clubs. Basically said that the agents know they've got the club over a barrel on deadline day and can get away with murder in their demands. Funny that 'Arry is rumoured to be on a percentage of transfer payments and always does his deals at the last minute (and therefore at higher cost).
