is this the most expensive collection of players ever ?? .. terrific pace and skill and lots of fouls, on and off the ball, referee needs four sets of eyes

Marcelo man of the first half.
  • Some of James Rodríguez' passing is incredible. Suárez has hardly done anything.

Disagree. If TV are going to be allowed to show matches any earlier, it will definitely have a negative effect on English attendances at games.

Rules should be changes so that any games with an official kick off time between 15.00-16.59 should be not shown until 17.15. Anything 17.00 and onwards should be allowed from the start.

Really? If Charlton were at home today, most people wouldn't have got home in time even if the game kicked off at 5.15 anyway so not sure why a 5pm kick off makes any difference.

As long as the game is starting after all of the 3pm's have finished it makes no sense (in my mind) not to have them on TV.

After a terrible corner for Rakitic's first touch. Reminded of a goal we'd concede over the past few years.

Barca don't look too good. The Suarez effect?

Well, he played a cross-field pass that Neymar picked up a way out. He had to do a hell of a lot of work after that to carve out a chance. If we're really calling that an assist then we have to give Neymar's mum an assist for giving birth to him and making the goal possible

Think you will find the commentators said it was an assist and so have every football score site and I guarantee he will have an assist in the La Liga records after the game

Real have been great, Barca look ropey at the back and Suarez seemed quite off the pace.

Bale still to come back for Real too !

Yeah cheers Paulie, I'm not disputing that they'll call it an assist, the point is that the fact they're calling it that is a stretch. Suarez added very little to that game, unsurprising considering how little football he's had, so citing his 'assist' as something he contributed to the game isn't really valid.

Also, 'every football score site'? I'll expect evidence for that Paulie. Maybe you can present it in a new thread.
  • Real looked frighteningly good at times today. On that form they could be the first team to retain the Champions League for a long time.

Since when did Reus play for Madrid?

    Meant Kroos
  • Fact of the day.

The last time Ronaldo failed to score in a home league game was September 2013.

    Incredible record.

But one could ask why a country should change the law just because two super rich johnny foreigner teams want to fuck about with their kick off time so they can sell even more shirts to no-mark glory hunters in Malaysia...? :-D

Returns tomorrow night. Hype here is massive, with it cringeworthingly being billed as 'BBC' vs 'MSN'.

Real are supposedly in crises here after a couple of bad results and, although this is clearly an exaggaration, aren't the swashbuckling team of earlier in the season. With Atlético not challenging this year, the winner tomorrow will likely end up as champion.

Any thoughts or predictions? I am going for 2-1 Real.
