Petterson won player of the season for us!1
-
Stannard as goalkeeper, Amdy Faye in midfield, Hasselbaink as forward.
The other eight could be world-beaters but with these in the team we would still lose.1 -
Wot ..... no Mike Small?

Far too painful for me to go there over the last half a century plus, I've moved on :-00
-
Jim Stannard
Paul Curtis
Dietmar Bruck
Phil Chapple
Bobby goldthorpe
Alan Ellis
Brendan O'Connell
Alan McCormack
Hugh McCauly
Barry Endean
Mike Small0 -
Thuram was worse than Stannard.
Petterson and Ammann? Have a word!
Nicky Weaver was worse than that pair!3 -
Marcus Bent0

Hulse Has to be upfront
Seabourne has to be at LB although it is tight with him and Evina and Frimpong has to be CM0 -

after the cafc player interview last season, i agree re john pearson's personality, i just recall being very frustrated watching him, maybe there are much worse and much more dishonest "strikers" though - slimy cashinbank comes to mind...ElfsborgAddick said:

Worst Charlton team ever and 4 are from the last two years? You haven't been following Charlton for long if you think that's as bad as it gets!paulie8290 said:Hulse Has to be upfront

Mike Small is a must
Mark McCammon on the back of that 1 sub appearance
Tom Hovi
Petterson made the best Valley save EVER at home to Palace . Banks-esque.
And Ammann was solid. They should be nowhere near.

Akpo, surely.0

I did this the other day with my Dad! He picked the best, and I was left with the worst eleven. I've only picked players that I have seen (I'm 14). Unfortunately, my time supporting Charlton has coincided with the bad times!
Thuram
Simon Francis Amdy Faye Doherty Djimi Traore
Alan McCormack Thierry Racon Matt Spring
Frank Nouble Leon Clarke Pawel Abbott
With honorable mentions to Izale Mcleod, Marcus Bent and David Mooney

No way is Akpo worse than someone like Mike Small. I thought Akpo did a job for us at the timeDanny Addick said:Akpo, surely.

Cant believe Bob Curtis was slung in this thread, was only a nipper when he played for us, but, I liked him.
Edit: Paul ? was "slung in"0 -
Thank god that Poyet fella turned down a new contract.0

It's the perennial CL June/July topic Beds. Bit earlier than expected what with the WC still on and all but I've come to think of these, and we will have the same thread started again before August, as traditional as a preseason at Welling or an early exit from cup football.Bedsaddick said:seriously again??? we must have the most negative fans in the country.

Hulse hasn't even been our worst striker in the past two seasons! He gave some good contributions in all honesty.paulie8290 said:Hulse Has to be upfront

as a cl newcomer, i did not know, but that is funny...oh well, things are a bit slow right now, summer lull etc.Bournemouth Addick said:

Having Pearson in there is a bit daft, the bloke was top goal-scorer for us in the 85/86 promotion season to the top-flight!
He may have been limited but he did a good job.2 -
ok, ok, i get it, pearson is not one of our worst, and as i saw only some of the games in mid 80's i defer to the week in/week out experts.0
-
I was a much better player than you thought mate
0 -
I never saw Billy Kiernan have a good game.0
-
that Egg from Wolves on loan...I saw him play for 20 mins he was a parks player..
he is the only professional footballer ive ever seen that made Paul Bacon look decent...wtf was bacon about? He would always have gleaming kit at the end of a game with his dodgy barnet - basically he always looked like the kid at school who was excused P.E. - nice new shiny kit look, always pick him last.0 -
It is difficult to talk about worst ever players without considering the context - for example any player only on the fringe of the squad in the League One seasons would by definition be amongst the worst players in recent memory.
Conversely the likes of Shaun Bartlett, Bryan Hughes and Dennis Rommedahl were (for me) extremely limited relative to the level they were being asked to perform at, yet superior to virtually any player in today's squad.
