Did he score a bicycle kick and then celebrate with three backflips, because if not then he is just as s*** as Danny Green.

I also thought we'd given him another 3 years. I was mid way through grabbing a pitchfork and lighting a torch and starting a march on Brussels, maybe walking by clubs from the rest of the RD empire so they can join in!
  • Blimey, this is a good reason why old threads shouldnt be brought back from the dead, gave me palpitations.

As for Green as I have said many times, he is underrated, should be given a decent run, his pace is deceptive and his crossing ability is world class, I would pick him every week

    For Dagenham

I was just about to accuse you of idiocy until I read that last line.

it hasn't worked out. These things happen.

The problem with the problem is that he is on a decent contract, so where it would have been in everyone's best interests for him to start again elsewhere over a year ago, that hasn't happened.

Danny Green is no world beater, but he is a much more decent footballer than the comments above insinuate.

Remember that Mark Hudson and Paddy McCarthy are now Premiership footballers !

When Danny Green is warming up as sub, I neither think, "good, here's a player that will be a game changer for us" or "oh no, this bloke is an accident waiting to happen". What I do think in modern parlance is "MEH". Green is a decent League 1 standard player. On good days, he'll look Championship level, but on middling days he won't. In that, he's got a lot in common with half of our squad.
  • Totally agree buts it's all of our squad only look championship quality in fits n spurts
That's why were in bottom 3!

He's not as bad as some make out, but he's also not as good as others make out.

I agree .. and consider that Green is skilful and capable but lacks the one vital component in his make-up that all great/very good players have (and let's be honest a lot of mediocre players have) ... and that is Desire !!

I suppose that because we had to outbid other clubs to get his signature we probably gave him a wage offer that now means we are stuck with him....

I sat in the West yesterday , sometimes I think one has to be closer to the side certain players are on to see how they really play . I can only think he was brought in to save AA for monday. He's got no footballing brain whatsoever , couldn't tackle a fish supper and time and time again didn't track back.

He's the perfect example of a player that is better off being a big fish in a small pond. I'm glad he has his clothing range to fall back on.
  • Green is an average League One or League Two player. He is nowhere near good enough for the Championship.

I have nothing against him, but he would be better suited to a lower league team.

Spot on , comes across as a nice guy but nowhere near this level. Same as Danny Hollands really.
