I'm not bashing Waggy , i think Danny Green's signing is good news for him and good news for Charlton fans , as it will mean people will have to deliver on a consistent basis if they want to stay in the team.
Wagstaff is also only 21. Give the guy a chance ffs, made double figured with (very important) goals, yet some still want to slate him.
Not slating him at all but he needs to make that step up and hopelly with the Green signing he will do that. I would love nothing better than to see Wagstaff supply shit loads of goals, as well as score them but ultimately i want us to go up and his age or sentimentality has nothing to do with that.
One thing i've learned as a Charlton fan , that we are really good at is moaning , we moaned when we we were in the premiership , and were still moaning now , get off Wagstaffs case and he'll flourish , he's a young lad who needs support and encouragement , not slagging off and criticising ( I'm not saying this aimed at anyone in particular on this website , so please don't take it personally) its just i've got this guy who sits quite close to me who winds me right up , he moans at whoever is on the wing , slagging them off constantly yet is such a lard arse himself , i'd love to see him do half of what they can do , some people love the sound of their own voice and this guy is one of them , back your team or clear off to Millwall.

Do we all have the same opinion on Danny Green now?
It seems like three years ago, there were as many people lauding his signing as there are now saying he's no good.
Has he not met expectation, or the coaching not improved him? Not enough pace to be a top wide man but, he should have started more games - I think he's not got enough drive to be a success at Champ level.
Danny Green's crosses are poor: pre-season friendly at AFC Wimbledon: a corner beautifully delivered, directly to the grateful keeper. Inexcusable, really, in a Championship team. Was it last week against Brum when he had two goes from the left corner at the Covered End, and couldn't get it past the first defender?
I think it was at home against Leeds at the back end of last season when he took a corner from the other side, and the defender ten yards away knocked it out for another corner. Green tried again - with exactly the same response. His third attempt was even worse - so bobblingly inept that the defender missed it, aghast: it reached the six-yard-box and we bundled it in to the onion bag amid utter confusion.
I like Danny Green. Maverick. Unpredictable. Serious barnet. Good shot on him; remember his debut at Welling, cutting in from the right up the slope and unleashing a belter? But I have to say I've never seen him skin a defender. Call me old-fashioned, but that's what wingers must do.
The fact that his goal v Welling is one our best memories of Danny Green says it all. League One player and even in that league he was frustrating. With our slow midfield that season Wagstaff was the better option.
Played a part in the last few years but if we're going to progress we need better squad players.

Oh, absolutely. In our U-21s pre-season friendly at Dartford last July I watched the Darts' left-winger deliver five gorgeously tantalising corners into box in the first half. Conference. No scuff, no fumble - I turned to my pal and asked: "Why can't Danny Green do that?" Rhetorical question.

Calm down dear
