Di Canio is no mug and he saw it. Good luck to him at Scunny though.

di canio is the definition of a mug. sorry i think clarke was ok just lacking in one or two areas and didn't fit in, he said himself, but di canio is a racist twat, he did a crap job at swindon, so what he got them promoted, with the budget he had and the transfer policy, if he didn't that would have been the incredible thing. he just made an example of clarke so that people would be scared of him. if people can only say he brings passion, does htat not show you how shit he was. theo nly reason he got the job there was because he filled them (sunderland board) with confidence and fully assured them of survival, which others may not have, i have a physical hate for him, he is a very bad person, who treats a few people well to masquerade this.
Can't really argue with that summary.............

Clarke handed in a formal transfer request at Coventry. Who's tapped him up?

Its alleged wolves are favourites which would make sense. More money, better promotion prospects and stays in the west midlands.

No idea, but he can't stop scoring since he left us

To be fair he was scoring for fun before we signed him. He also scored for fun when we lent him out.

There is, it would seem, only one club where he has failed to score!

Can't think who you mean KHA?

    QPR? Or Swindon? Wednesday?

Did CP sign Clarke just to get rid of Benson, because he never gave Clarke a chance after he did sign him. He is better than any of the so called strikers we have now. I will be surprised if CP is still with us after this season, despite his good record to date, ie League 1 winners, a good season last, and a poor one this so far but mainly down to lack of investment. Suspect he is becoming peripheral and that new management is gradually sidelining him based on what I have seen so far.

Yep Powell definitely should of broke up the BWP/Yann partnership during the title winning season to give Leon Clarke a chance...

I stick with this as well

  • Clarke was injured for 3 weeks before he arrived and was obviously unfit on debut but clearly had something and worried the shit out of defenders.
  • He didn't get a chance because he wasn't as good as the strikers we already had.

If we had got a lot of injuries/suspensions or hit some really dodgy form he may well of got a run in the team and probably got some of goals. Instead we pissed the league and BWP and Yann were excellent. Never had any thing against Leon Clarke.

It's water under the bridge now. He is a player who at div 1level proved himself. For some reason it did not work here. He's done well since, good luck to him.

I'd have him back and give him a chance
  • Dont know how any fan could dislike him...he wasn't given a proper chance. He also joined during our shaky period in league one where the whole team was poor.

He wasn't given much of a chance but then who really cares? We had two fantastic strikers at that level in BWP and Yann, and we also had Haynes and then N'Guessan in reserve. We pissed that league and didn't really need Clarke at all. Seems he wasn't a Powell choice and he definitely wasn't good enough for the Championship so I don't think we can really see it as an opportunity missed. It's just another weird event in the reign of Jimenez and Slater to file alongside Alonso and the slip'n'slide pitch.

Church is like a caged dog let out into the garden, so much excitement, has a great time, got no self control, but my goodness does he run. Finishes his 90 minute play, comes in all muddy, panting having achieved f*** all. But don't we love our little doggy.
