Clarke out caught in slips off Stokes.

One of the big concerns for me is that Anderson has bowled poorly all series - taking only 11 wickets so far - including a 4-for in Melbourne.Maybe could be next to follow Swann- Cook has hardly bowled him today - and maybe he should only play in home series?

Why sacrifice a slip for extra cover?

Just not happening for Anderson, he will be under huge pressure for his place in the next home series from the likes of Onions.

Nah, no way, not from the likes of Onions - too similar a bowler, Jimmy is a much better bowler than Onions, and Onions would have the same problem overseas as Jimmy. But who he might be under pressure from is the likes of Overton should he have a good start to the season, and is over his injury.

Indeed - you want the likes of Watson and Smith driving at a moving ball and if you go for four or five 4's but end up winning the war then "job done" I say.

  • Anderson finally pitching the ball up and gets results.

As the stats show we have bowled far too short all series.

We have not really bowled that well but finally got a bit of luck with Rogers playing on, might be our day at last.

This match is following a pretty similar pattern to a lot of this series, lets hope we can for the first time push home our advantage. Surely Haddin is due to fail? Bailey must be in the last chance saloon?

England's session. Just got to get that pesky Hadden out cheaply after lunch.

We won the Ashes in 70/71 without getting one!

Despite the movement and green track it's probably a good time to bring Borthwick on. Bailey/Haddin might target him but you can sacrifice a couple of overs of dross for the potential of one of them giving their wicket away.

not so sure about that. The pace is going nicely,

we don't want to lose this momentum

There speaks the father of a legspinner.....

Really no need yet, things are going ok for now.

Indeed it is but he is in the team as the spinner. Swann, Monty and Tredders (in the ODIs) have all been targeted and the time not to bring him on is when they are 220-5 because, by that time, they are seeing it like a football.

A couple of overs shouldn't do any harm against two new batsmen who are both expecting seam up both ends. At 94-4 the pressure is on the batsmen against a bowler who will be turning the ball away from them.

So, a slip, a gully and a brave short leg and make sure you invite them to hit over the top by keeping mid on and mid off up.

Future England legspinner if you don't mind which is why I probably love the fact that we're playing one for the first time in a couple of decades.

With foot movement like that, Borthwick would have had Bailey out within 3 balls!
