Morrison - time for a change?

I know this is slightly controversial but with Cort being perhaps somewhat unlucky to have been dropped today and Dervite looking solid isn't it about time SCP gave Morrison a spell on the bench? Maybe it will do him good?

He's been consistently very good for us and centre backs are prone to a howler. He's made two mistakes and I would not swap him.0

Fickle fans, Morrison has been consistently outstanding for us0

To be fair it is not the first time this season this has happened.ShootersHillGuru said:He's been consistently very good for us and centre backs are prone to a howler. He's made two mistakes and I would not swap him.

No way is Morrison the problem.0

CMS certainly had time and space for his goal, but there aren't many better forwards in this division and he didn't have too many other chances.0

Ridiculous!
Consistently solid and still young for a CB. Would be madness to drop him0 -
I'm not being fickle. I am merely interested in peoples opinions thats all.J BLOCK said:Fickle fans, Morrison has been consistently outstanding for us

Made mistakes for both goals and some other poor play. He let CMS get clear for the shot Hamer blocked with his face
But chopping and changing every time a play slips up isn't going to help.
How about some patience and thinking about more than the last game?

Kiwi, no offence my friend but sometimes when people try and form analysis based off reports and commentary, it just doesn't give the full picture.
Morrison has been excellent this season from what i have seen.0 -
Morrison is an important player for us, and has been very good overall this season. Yes his mistake has led to a goal today, but the cliche is that forwards mistakes aren't as easily punished as defenders, Morro has made less mistakes than most of the other players, bar Solly of course.0

"Hear" says it all really0

Morrison missed Cort next to him today. Not that Dervite had a bad game, but Morrison missed that authoritative figure next to him. Wouldn't swap him for any other CB in the Champ.0

One daft header doesn't outweigh 95 mins of solid play... Morrison was immense today against their atrack0

What exactly is that supposed to mean Nicholas? I live in Denmark for christ sake! Forgive me if I can't get to every single f*cking home game!Nicholas said:"Hear" says it all really

Put it this way. If by some freak this team got promoted to the prem. I think it possible that Morrison along with only Solly and Wiggins might just make the step up.

Morrison blundered today but has been solid for well over a season.
If,as AFKA suggests,you weren't even there,I'd pipe down.0 -
In answer to your question mate, no he shouldn't be dropped. He turns in some great performances but all players at this level will make mistakes unfortunately, but with experience he will cut down on it
Don't get wound up by people's responses though. I like people starting threads like these as they are about football and our players in particular.
Much better to talk about that than flares and music0 -
No way. You know you're loved when the fans are singing your name minutes after you've been the reason your team just conceded.0

I know that Morrison is class (he is one of my favorite players in the current squad) and I have no doubt that he is still young and may well make that transition to the Premier League one day. All I am saying is that this is not the first time a dodgy back pass/header of his has cost us a goal (didn't he do the same at Forest?) - I can't recall any other Charlton players having done that lately but happy to be proved wrong!0

You are right. Apologies everyone. It was only my intention to start a good, healthy debate.ValleyGary said:In answer to your question mate, no he shouldn't be dropped. Leave off. First bad game he's had in a red shirt. I was annoyed at him today but usually he's our best player. Ridiculous post0

No way do you need to apologise mate.0

It's difficult to make that call if you don't get to see many games - its more what you don't hear about that justifys his selection. He's consistently excellent which justifys his selection, it's just that because he is so consistent that you don't hear about it much. And tbh almost all defenders in this league will struggle with CMS.0
