Morrison made a mistake for the first goal, but that's the way it goes. He is pretty dependable most of the time. No one is perfect all the time, and Morrison has got my support.
He was also up against Mackall Smith, who is a quality striker.
So don't agree with the proposition that there should be a change at central defence.
Don't forget he is playing in a side that seem set up to let the opposition boss games. With the amount of defending and soaking up of pressure Morrison and his ever changing back four have to do it is remarkable how few errors there have been.
However, to suggest such a thing hardly deserves the vitriol here. After all, Cort was dropped today, I presume because Powell wanted someone pacier than him to counter CMS. Taylor played 3/4 of last season before being dropped. No one player is undroppable.
No I think that he is good enough, prone to the odd individual error and in this league that seems to get punished be overall this season has been solid. We sometimes get carried away on here and after a single performance decide peoples career is over and then the following week sing their praises, Pritch and JJ (out of position) are todays cases, last week it was Dale Stephens and yet today I thought was one of his best games this season, not digging anyone out and I know this is a platform for opinions so its to be expected I suppose.
Just to chuck in another curve ball how many times do we hear comments (even those made by lifers who regularly attend matches) along the lines of "Hamer looks like he doesn't have faith in Morrison, etc, etc"
The problem is fairly obvious , Morro was still revelling from last weekend at Millwall mixing it up with the Charlton Ultra's in the upper tier, now he's got that out of his bonce , he will score in the next game or two to make up for it don't worry.
Fair comment Kiwi, today when he slipped to let in CMS (who looked quality) Hamer was the first to come over and put an arm around him followed by a few others so a good spirit among them thats for sure
we have 3 excellent centre backs and another very useful one in reserve - no problem playing any of the 3 and it makes sense to rotate them. Morrison is entitled to make the odd mistake - he's been brilliant for us since signing, as has cort and now dervitte looks very good as well and potentially the best - can't see an obvious weakness in his game as CB

Pleased to hear that SE7. This has to be one of the closest group of Charlton players we've had.
I would have kept with Cort and Dervitte today as Cort did not deserve to be dropped after last week as MOM. No disrespect to Morrow, but if you are out of the team and your replacement does well you have to play your way back into the team.
That said, Morrow has been a rock and it would have been a big big call not to play him. He has cost a couple of goals recently but love the guy and you cannot question his comitment.
Morrison has been a rock in our defence aswell as getting in on the scoring act too. If you could have seen his reaction after the error that lead to goals today and against Middlesborough this season you would know that the bloke is genuinely upset but his response has been fantastic as he gets on with his duties superbly. Morrison would be one of the last players I would drop and in my opinion he is the epitome of a Charlton player. When you do see him in action you will know what I mean.
I think it was the right decision to bring him back in and rest Cort - Cort has been brilliant but Dervitte has come in and done really well so would have been a kick in the teeth for him knowing it doesn't matter how well he plays, he won't start. CP could easily explain to Cort as there was no question he was outstanding last week so it wasn't performance related. Morro deserved the straight back in start today for what he has done and what he, is at the club - good man management.
He's been the most consistent defender we've had for ages,as has Chris Solly--everyone makes a mistake and he was unfortunately made to pay today. He forms great partnerships with any player who is selected alongside him. The guy is a true pro and we need his type of attitude throughout. Keep it going Michael.
It pains me to say this as I like the guy a lot but I am starting to get a little fed up with the number of times I hear about a "poor back header" or "a lapse in concentration" by Morrison costing us a goal.
I know this is slightly controversial but with Cort being perhaps somewhat unlucky to have been dropped today and Dervite looking solid isn't it about time SCP gave Morrison a spell on the bench? Maybe it will do him good?
Personally, I find it really annoying that people who don't/can't go to games, come on here suggesting that one of our top players are dropped, just because he has a poor game.
If you'd looked at the CL stats you'd know he was one of our best/reliable players.
I don't start spouting on about Denmark, as I'm not there & don't know.
I think you should consider what you are saying, before you effectively criticise players, when you ain't got a scooby. Rant over. Breeeathe.
Spot on CE. I get fed up with people given opinions on games/incidents they have not seen.
Sorry. I thought the whole point of CL was that regardless of whether or not you are physically able to attend every game (of which the majority of us on here do not!) you are still entitled to an opinion.

Evidentially not listening to you clowns!
Always best to watch a game/highlights before spouting a load of what i heard on the radio.

Happens to the best of them.
Bolton next, Kevin Davies=Cort back in?

Would be in my side most days.
