  • Surely someone must know where Steve Jones works, lives or drinks ?
Steve Jones did state himself that he is here
every Saturday, once he has finished his shift at the local Tesco.

He's probably taken on more than he could handle and has ignored things rather than doing the correct thing and keeping people up to date.

Perhaps those that he has let down could get together and pay him a visit at the football club.
and I mean a nice visit, for a quiet word to get some answers - I don't mean an angry mob!!

He runs Langdon Pumas FC and manages the U12 blues side in the Chelmsford Youth league. They have 5 matches left if anyone wants to turn up and sort it out with him on the touchline :)

or you could try - admin@langdonpumas.com which I think has already been suggested.

Surprised the press hasn't got hold of this to be honest.

That is a very old pic of the 'then' watchdog presenters. in fact none of them work for the programme anymore. Julia Bradbury was ' suspended' later cleared of receiving flights at a discount from a relative. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/watchdog-presenter-julia-bradbury-repays-388472
It is Chris Hollins and that lovely lady Anne Robinson..... who used to speak out the side of her mouth, although prior to that as a hack, generally out of here arse..... and Paul Heiney.
I see the bbc spared no expense on the location......that is under the flyover at white city..
How would you know the location Ken?

  • Because it is across the road from white city, where the watchdog offices were, next door to where I worked at the bbc.
And across the road from the then BBC worldwide, and pic pub that I used to work with......Oh and I have used the pic myself for the BBC newspaper that I used to design....
  • from the same photoshoot......

What about mentioning it to that bbc programme Watchdog , it makes you wonder if any other people have been scammed?

Don't get this. Why wouldn't they just get some more photos or canvases printed up and signed by Clive for the sake of keeping people happy. It can't be that difficult!
Because getting more printed up costs money and he's probably already spent the cash. It's a bit like the builder who wants cash for "materials" then goes down the pub/bookies with it. Happens all the time.

Just because they are Charlton legends doesn't mean they can't be absolute arseholes too, unfortunately.
  • Jones was never a legend . Had a run in with him once at a forest away game . Absolute dickhead

Exactly! That bloke in Corrie last night demanded cash from poor old Terry Duckworth for "materials" and all you saw was him and his workers in the bloody Rovers, drinking beer and ordering jacket potatoes!

    What a shit business.

Feel for those who have had their good nature taken advantage of...but then again, why wouldn't you trust someone; especially if they are 'Charlton'.

I suppose, sadly, what Off It said probably sums up the situation pretty well.

Has anybody tried getting in touch with Clive just to let him know what's happened & what a bad taste has been left. Know it's probably not his fault but his great Charlton legend status is going down the pan.

As for Jones, always seemed a waster to me, so probably explains a lot!
  • How much are people out of pocket then?

I take your point, but he was part of THAT legendary team, so that's close enough.

I just can't believe that they came up with this elaborate scheme to make a few hundred quid ?
