Questions for Powell

Why did we not begin the match the way we started the second half? We looked clueless and complaceant from the kick off in the first half. If players are tired then use the squad - that's what it's for. Inject some youth team into the squad to freshen it up. Just because we have a decent lead at the top doesn't mean we can sit back and take a decent footballing team like Notts County (without lee hughes) for granted. Surely Powell must have learnt something from the Colchester match.

We are top if the league, why are so many players having an off day over the past 3 games, Jacko looks injured, Wiggins looked complacent, Hollands looks knackered, Stevens has struggled since coming back and what can you say about Ben Hamers performance today?

Why when the game went stale again around 65mins did we not make a substitution? From being in the ascendancy lack of changes in personnel and formation ensured the game petered out into an anti climax.

Couldnt understand not making a sub 2nd half. Game went flat on 70mins. May as well chuck Clarke on.

I would expect his thinking the players look knackered maybe we should give them more of a rest this week

The only problem i have with Powell (and ive had it all season)

Is that he doesn't seem to get subs right enough.

Why wasn't clarke brought on with 15 to go when we're needing two goals?

Is that not a reasonable question then?

    Questions for Powell:

    - how does it feel to be 10 point clear?

    - how does it feel to massively exceed expectations in your very first managerial job?

    - where do you get your suits from?

    Think that covers it.

To be fair the sub he did bring on scored one and set up one but I agree it was strange that both Clarke and Russel were ready to come on yet did not. Not sure either would have had an impact but would have been fresh legs at least

Dont understand being 4-0 down at half time and not makin any subs. At 4-2 with 20 left it was like hed accepted defeat

My only complaint is lack of subs, last 20 it wasn't working but he didn't change it.

    Not really, no.

Just so I know, which clubs have you managed or coached?

Who would you have brought on? Russell or Clarke? To be fair we started 2nd half with 2 quick goals so no changes at HT was right.

Kap - of course you can question him and of course he gets things wrong. He's inexperienced and learning on the job. That was the deal. But on balance he's getting a lot more right than wrong. I don't think there's anything wrong with people bringing that up.

That attitude is too complacent aswell. Save the plaudits for the end of the season, we havnt won anything yet!

Our 10pt lead could disappear very quickly if we don't get our act together and I don't wanna be in this poxy league next year like anyone else I'm sure

"We looked clueless and complaceant from the kick off in the first half".

Why do people do this? We haven't been quick out of the blocks for months now, but we've still done enough and have grown into games. Why do people insist on changing their views on events after witnessing preceding events. If we had defended better for what should have been at least 2 easy-to-deal-with goals and got something from the game, the above words would never have been used to describe our first 10 minutes.

Offy your a bit rude there its not a hate filled thread its just a observation.
  • Clarke is obviously the bloke Powell wanted. Why not even have him out there at any point today?

I think it was more a convinient way of getting rid of a reluctant Benno.

    It's a whine.

"Surely Powell must have learnt something from the Colchester match". What's that meant to mean? Ridiculous.

I've no problem with constructive criticism, but we lose a couple of games and peoples poopers go and they start talking crap.

Well I did manage an under 15s team in Dartford a few years ago :) but my questions are not based on my managerial qualities, they are based on actual events during the 90mins against Notts County at The Valley today.

Ffs off it do one. He has put up some valid points about the game and you come out with crap like "have you managed or coached". If you dont agree dont respond or dont do it so rudely.
