If there is a lesson about Chrissy that we need to learn , I think it is that he is a winner. Because we don't understand why he didn't do this or did that, we should also know that there is a reason and to be honest, whatever that reason is, there is a good chance it is sound. That doesn't mean we shouldn't question things on a forum such as this as there would be little point in having a forum if we didn't, but doubting Sir Chris should be off limits - we are going up this year and it will most likely be as champions so what have we got to complain about really?
I've heard it all now! I thought Off_it was bad enough with his "You can only comment if you've managed a team" bollocks but saying that doubt is not allowed is frankly moronic.
For the record, Chris Powell is a new manager with a decent record. He is not the fucking Messiah!
I should have said - it should be off limits whilst we are 10 points clear at the top with only 10 to go, but I took that as read. perfectly reasonable assertion in my books.

I don't care if we're 25 points clear with 1 game to play. Unless we are playing 100% perfect football and would thrash Barcelona every single time then there is always room for doubt and comment. That's not to say that we should all be slitting our wrists but questioning is good, not bad. Questioning leads us to ask whether we can improve and until the answer to that question is no then long may it continue!
Ok, you doubt him. I'll carry on commenting - 'I have questioned why he didn't go 3-4-3 with 20 to go' - but pardon me if I hold off on the doubting. We are going to get promoted comfortably and this is that slightly uncomfortable time of the season that it is only fair we experienced, but being greedy we had hoped we wouldn't. We have the right man at the helm and I back him to sort it out in the next game - if not, it will be the game after.

Did I say that? Really? Only you seem to be "quoting" me directly there.

An apology before the group would be acceptable.
You're going to have a long wait for that mate.
Just so I know, which clubs have you managed or coached?

Ah, so - I DIDN'T say what you attributed to me then.

Oh, so you just dropped that comment in for no reason did you? You weren't implying that anybody who hasn't managed or coached a team is not qualified to comment? Perhaps you'd care to enlighten us as to what you did mean then?
One reason about no / late subs never mentioned is that SCP is managing a squad and not playing Footy Manager on a computer! Unlike Pardew making his "impact" subs after 60 minutes and then convincing the board to sign / borrow yet more players, SCP is clearly building a squad ... clearly more in the Curbs tradition.
I'm not saying he calls it right every time and I would like to see one or two bodies come in to help us across the line but he is there to develop 16-18 players into a team that represents the club.
I like the point higher up re players despondent if they don't think they figure for next season but I'm not sure the gap is that great? Is anyone really ruled out at this stage? SCP cut his coaching teeth at Leicester and along with the board will have a good idea who is good enough for the championship and which positions need support / replacements

Deuce.
Think we're all more jittery than some would admit and it's inevitably led to some bickering.
Nothing we can do until Saturday when those of us able to travel to Scunny can get behind the boys and make some noise.
Until then, let's all take a deep breath and enjoy a relaxing week with no football to worry about.
Of course somebody who has not coached a team can comment all they want - and refer to my comment about constructive crticism on the first page, for those who seem to have missed it.
It's crap like "Surely Powell must have learnt something from the Colchester match." - implying he hasn't, but that the orginal poster has and would've put it into practice given the chance, that I find ridiculous.
As is "Something needs changing now for the last two months", but hey - you don't have to like what I say.
In terms of constructive criticism I'm sure CP and the players would admit they've played poorly in a number of recent games - they've ground out results but in the last two games the luck has run out. I don't really care until the end of the season how well we play so long as we go up. Our defence has been the biggest strength this season but on Saturday it went missing. I'm sure the players will be up for it on Saturday against Scunthorpe and hopefully being away from home will take away some of the pressure. It's all about character for the rest of the season - we have a good enough team to go up assuming they don't bottle it. CP will really earn his money from now until the end of the season. We've finished off two of the last 3 seasons in a fairly abysmal manner so I'm sure the management will go all out to avoid a repeat of this.
If the team don't end the season in the top 2 given our current position it would be a disaster for the club. I'm naturally a pessimist but even I can't see us failing to get top 2 from where we are.
If all previous League One seasons are the yardstick, we probably only need 3 wins to be promoted (in 2nd place).
The points required for winning the title depends on the run the 2nd placed club puts together. But you only need 1 more point than the 2nd placed club.
However, you can only focus on one game at a time. And take nothing for granted.
