Unpopular opinion here, I’m not too keen on The Green Man at all. Maybe it’s my age, or that both times I’ve had one of my ten year olds with me, or that it’s a waste of drinking time trying to get a beer.
Used the fanzone. queued for about 5 minutes to get in and didn’t have to wait any of the four times getting drinks using the small bar to the left of the main bar. Thought it was really well managed and ideal for the group I was with.
We were heading up to the Green Man at about 10:45 and people were heading the other way. We turned around and went to the Wembley International hotel. There wasn’t too many people in there, just enough to make a bit of noise and song.
Got in the Arch about 11.00 had a couple of pints, easy to get served at the bar or table service. £8 a pint of Fosters. Place was filling up by the time we left around midday.
Went back after the game, got a table outside, they had an outside bar, easy to get served. Left about 17.00 back at Charing Cross by 18.00.
I was in the Green Man pre match from 08:45 and after the game. The atmosphere was brilliant! Got talking to someone who said they take close to 100k for the play-off games.
Couldn't get in anywhere near the ground pre-match, but the bars on the middle level at Wembley are excellent. Post-match we went to The Globe on Baker Street, then Thamesside Inn at London Bridge, which is a complete tourist trap, but just fine for us. Addicks absolutely everywhere.
Thought Boxpark was great before the game. Having the fella that does the presenting of our fan zone at the valley gave it a really good feel. Pretty easy to get served, well easier than our fan zone and the food was pretty good. No idea what it was like getting in there post match? I was the other side of Wembley way and couldn't be arsed trawling across.

Surely there’s a health and safety issue allowing that many people into the pub.
