We were so disappointed as we couldn't get in The Green Man before the game (hour's wait) nor after the victory. Gutted as it was a fantastic atmosphere for the last play-off, before and after.
Howabout suggestions for pubs a few stops from Wembley that will be open before and after - mainly before in the morning !
Last time went to north Marylebone
The Preston by Preston Road tube station is your friend.
And it opens at 10am according to their website
What a great recommendation this was from Elfsborg! Lovely place and no problem at all getting served. Thanks Elfsborg!
We were there just before opening, would have gone to Twomey’s, the other side of the station, but it didn’t open until 12. No problem getting a drink, jumped onto the tube and in Wembley Park within minutes. Agreed to meet back there and I walked back to it and beat the others who got the tube, due to the wait at Wembley Park.

We arrived just after 10; looked closed as we walked up to it, but fortunately it wasn’t. What a nice place to go away from all the crowds. Went there after as well. Served almost immediately (a lot busier afterwards but no long wait at the bar). Well impressed. Out of interest, how long did it take you to walk there after the game and beat the crowds?
Green man was good pre match we got there about 9.45 liked the sing song but the constant chucking of smokes when there’s kids about was silly and annoying.
Went there after the game also and was v busy and a lot of battered people

It was fantastic again - proper mosh pit - we were there from about 10 til 12. Went to Redwoods at London Bridge after but only lasted for 3 pints before a curry and a re watch of the match was calling

About 15-20 minutes, it’s just over a mile. Just followed my phone, came out on the road across from the pub.
We got to the stadium at 11, took 1 look at the fan park queue and the fact it looked like it was about to piss down and went straight in the ground. Nice and easy to get a beer and a bit of food and worked out really well in the end

To be fair I joined the queue about 11 and it was pretty fast moving. Had a beer in hand within about 15 mins.
All a bit surreal after, Never seen a crowd shift so quickly in my life. 10s of thousands of football fans and within a couple of hours the place is flooded with those coming for a girl group of Filipinas called BINI at the Ovo Arena !
Got into Boxpark early, it filled up after 11 and the queues for the bar were getting long. Good atmosphere. Went to the Corner House after the game to watch the hurling! Was quiet enough which was nice while we waited for the crowds to filter out and get to the station easily.
We got to the green man for 10am & again after the game. Great atmosphere but absolutely heaving.
I can only imagine how much money that pub took yesterday.
& the woman with the huge Bristols selling Jager Bombs at 10am was a very clever bit of marketing too!!
They pocketed £70 from me.
One round and a bag of crisps?
But seriously even though it is London and 'prime' area prices amaze me. Must be getting old.
What I did notice is breakfast in Stanmore was not much more than locally here. Coffee a little more, and extra for milk. Beer is more than twice the price around Wembley, the difference has accelerated over the years.
Started in Green Man. Got there early and all good, got served quickly but it soon got very crowded with massive bar queues. Bailed out and headed to Fan Zone. A long queue to get in but it moved really quickly. Was in with a beer in hand in 10 mins. Sun came out and whilst not as “lively” as the Green Man, the bar queue was spot on ( in the sense that there wasn’t one. Walked straight up and got served within seconds every time).
Unpopular opinion here, I’m not too keen on The Green Man at all. Maybe it’s my age, or that both times I’ve had one of my ten year olds with me, or that it’s a waste of drinking time trying to get a beer.

If anyone lost a pint of lager my mate has it on his Charlton shirt.

Did you have to leave 10 mins before the end??
Not sure the coach loads of tourists turning up for a hotel stay enjoyed it so much.

Unfortunately, it’s a lucky pub.
