  • Watmores injury record would concern me. Can't see that being a starter unless he's in on trial
  • Interestingly (well maybe) there was a lot of talk on NTT20 about how the majority of team pivoted away from a back 3 over the course of last season and back to a back four, maybe there will be a change to combat this.

I guess at this stage don't know. NJ seemed very fixed on one formation at the start of the season, it almost got him sacked and we went then through a few formations before landing on the strange lop-sided 352 we saw success with. Maybe the same happens this season.
That's a bit steep, I don't think Nathan's job was ever in jeopardy, he was finding his best formation and line-up, which came good in December iirc...
Didn't he say himself that fans were calling for his head after the Crawley defeat - I seem to remember there being a lot of pressure at that point

Think we are going to need a bigger plane on Sunday to get all these players over there

Plane!, nah they've laid on a luxury coach all the way...😂

Fans weren't happy of course, but the board were backing him...
  • Apter would be a great signing for us. He was provisionally in my EFL fantasy team for GW 1 week next month. If I recall in Jan we wanted to get a winger in (maybe Owen Dale) but it fell through. It makes sense we will go back in for another winger.

I ask wed my father in law who is a Blackpool season ticket holder, if Apter was any good:

“Yep, young and a bit naive at times, classic winger, would be a big loss for us 😩”
we already have a young, naive winger in Campbell. No point in spending a small shedload for another one
It is if you have the right plan and coaching. You only have to see the incredible advance TC has taken in one year.
so you advocate playing with 2 wingers ? .. one is a luxury, two an expensive extravagance
Two wing backs - Absolutely we should . Jones doesn't play with out and out wingers.

If Costello signs, it will be the first time since he left that I regret that we got rid of Pawel Abbott

We all love a double act ❤️
Dennis Wise at Morecambe fc unfortunately never happened.

Pawel Abbott was a square pole in a round hole at CAFC in 2010/11 when he had the 1 goal in 17 matches.
The York born Striker with the Polish Parents peeked between 2004-2007 at Huddersfield with 48 goals in 111 matches, not too shabby you will agree Mr Chizz.

Some fans … most understood that it was a project and nothing was going to be done overnight and plus we had 10 players missing through injury

Looks very impressive, good size , good on the ball and doesn't look afraid to get stuck in.

Would be quite excited if Mustapha is the PL loan.

'Wingers' are as dead as the dodo at many levels of football other than the elite teams in a division and instead we have forwards with pace or trickery who will go wide but also go central depending on where the attack is starting from in the pitch.
TC, Lyle Taylor baby before he was persona non Grata and Karlan Grant fitted this mode of flexible forwards.
Godden again will mainly play 65 minutes and be the 9 and it will be interesting if he and Miles can have a rapport or Leaburn comes on to replace him as the focal point.

Wide men will have to track back whatever you want to call them and in the championship we will be defending from the front which we even had to do in League 1 on many occasions.
It will be a tough gig playing in a forward position for CAFC in 25/26 if we don't counter attack with accuracy and pace.

Messaged a couple of Palarse fans this morning, both said they've not really seen him but know he's highly regarded as a prospect.
  • We often talk about the injury record of potential incoming players.
But if they’re given a fitness test before signing doesn’t that indicate stuff and diminish risk.

Tell them to go fuck themselves from me when you speak next…

    good he’s highly regarded tho!
I echo that, please tell them to fuck themselves and then fuck themselves again!
Actually could you tell them to fuck themselves up their fucking arses from me too please?

    Nice one

Crying out for Rak-Sayi type loan that can give us a bit of an X Factor now but starting to take shape nicely.
Loaning him back to the one club he's truly excelled at has to something that Palace are thinking about. I doubt the loan fee is even that important to them given the far larger jump in his value if he has a breakout season at Championship level.
Thing is not much about the club is the same, different manager, different playing style, different owners, different coaching staff, different stature in a different division and majority of the squad are different too. Him coming back here isn’t a guaranteed success at all
If Charlton do enquire about him I hope we don't lead with that pitch.
Pitch is different too to be fair!

And when they’ve finished, tell them to go and do it again from me too ta very much
  • Rankin Costello to be announced tomorrow before the game do we think?
  • By adding Tanto and to an extent,Carey, the need to replace small at rwb, with pace, probably isn’t as critical and I’d say it looks like we’re going for a bit more of a solid citizen type wing back (Galbraith and others we’ve been linked with, to retain possession rather than go shit or bust a la small) and maybe therefore we’re looking to sit in even more but compensate with pace further up the pitch - TC, Tanto, Leaburn, Carey and Dixon would all be classed as pacy / mobile
  • When are we expecting JRC to be announced
  • Are there any trialists at the moment?

No idea, we've had no training photos this week. We might find out tomorrow, that's how we discovered Bishop last year
