    Why would Berry leave?
Only if he wants to start games.

But I suspect he will be content to draw his salary sitting on the bench and being Nathan's best mate.
Not sure why you make it sound like Berry plans to be a lazy player and just accept wages to sit on bench.

He put in a lot of effort last season for us (42 league games, 7 goals, 5 assists), no reason he wouldn't want to put in that effort again and help us be successful this season.

But you carry on with sarcastic comments about content to draw a salary and be the managers best mate.
Yep, Berry was absolute class last season. No one in there right mine can dig him out for how he played and the commitment and desire he has playing for Charlton.
I don’t question his attitude and he has an eye for goal but I don’t see him being influential in the division above .  Hope I’m wrong .  I feel the same about Docherty .  I believe Coventry will be good enough and I think Anderson will do a job as an energetic sub .
If there is any truth in our interest in DKD then you’d think that would spell the end for Berry.

DKD tends to play (very well) in that second striker / attacking midfielder role.

I’d be suprised to see us spend big dollars on both Apter & DKD though. That would be dream world.
Berry is the best finisher in the club (Godden is a goal scorer, there’s a difference). When all the rushing around and snap shots don’t pay off, Berry seems to be in the right position, stopping time and placing the ball in the back of the net. That man should never, ever, be allowed to leave Charlton.
He isn’t a flashy player that is always catching the eye but he’s very steady and technically good. Jones will appreciate what he brings to the team and dressing room probably more than most of us do. I have no doubt he’ll play a key role again this year. The big difference is that we’ll have good quality options which is exactly what we haven’t had for years.
  • Apologies if I have missed this but what do we know about Luke Harris who Sky Sports claim is wanted by us and Derby? Any truth in this and how good is he?
  • Good morning - what did Sir Rich Cawleys podcast detail about where we are with possible transfers ? Any likely today ?

  • just been watching some vids of mustapha. looks like someone in that aribo mould, strong, elegant and technically very good. could be the icing on our cake if we get JRC and Raptor

Hindolo Mustapha has played a couple of times for Sierra Leone already at the tender age of 18, I wonder if DK would have trained with him. He's described as an attacking midfielder, but I'm not sure a teenager from the Prem is what we need in that role this season
Conor Gallagher was 19 when he joined us, and was our best player, so as the saying goes, if you're good enough, you're old enough...
Yep absolute class player if it's your first loan from a premiership team and your on the verge of breaking through you can get some absolute gems.

Does anyone else see the JRC and wish it was an S instead of C
I’m just glad it’s not JFC.
    Or worse…JFH
  • 16 players will be used on most match days and 20 need to be ready for action. Some will struggle with Championship football while others it will be seamless.
I obviously don't take as much notice now of opposition players as I used to when I knew them all !

Tanto, I did notice from the semi final two legs but both Carey and Apter the Scouser went under my radar probably as I was watching Albie Morgan !

In Chapple and Jones we trust and hopefully they assemble a squad that can have some daylight from the bottom 3 🤞🏼

If we don't lose our better players then we may be ok but as our away games at Birmingham and Wrexham showed from last season it's a step up in class and if we give the ball away cheaply, clean sheets will be very last season.

Still more negotiations on going and let's hope we get these transfers over the line just like with our attacking in 25/26.

If Costello signs, it will be the first time since he left that I regret that we got rid of Pawel Abbott

We’ve got Will Abbott so we’re covered.
Club comms are missing out if we don't get a post with these two together
  • If JRC is Thierry’s replacement, where would Apter fit in? Sounds like he’s an out and out winger rather than someone who could also play Right Wing Back. Suggests on the right of a 3 man forward line but I’d be surprised if Nathan wants to switch formations.

There's a few options. 1) NJ converts him into an attacking WB 2) NJ converts him into a ST/winger hybrid like TC 3) NJ converts him into a 10 4) He's used on the wing in specific match ups or end of games when we need to change it up. Think 1,2 & 4 are the most likely

Could potentially be coming in to play that second striker role? And maybe it will be him who’s competition for TC, and instead Olaofe will be competition for Leaburn and Godden.
