Some of their 'lads' threw eggs at us at the tube station when our tube pulled up.

    Utter fools

Unfortunately, I missed the O’s game due to a long-booked family gathering, but my son came back hoarse—no doubt from belting out Goodbye Horse! He said the atmosphere was the best since the Playoff Final, with Nutter Nathan crowd-surfing into the fans.

Driving back, I had Radio London on, and the commentary was absolutely electric. Paul Parker and Louis Mendez were outstanding—it felt just like Greg and Tel’s legendary Playoff Final commentary, when we netted the winner with just six seconds left! I've had April 26th (Wrexham away) and May 25th (Playoff Final) marked in the diary for months… could it actually happen? Who knows—but what a ride this could be!

Is there anywhere we can listen to this back?

Excellent commentary, captured the atmosphere spot on, Louis going mad (understandably) at the end...still can't believe it actually happened if I hadn't seen it...GREAT!!

Minor whinge I see it every away gane....stop filling up the aisles with your presence. They are there for a reason and must be kept clear. We do have some thick head supporters.

Just cos you are sat in row A sit there. Just hope it's not one of your loved ones who need urgent help but the dopey slow that help down.

That’s disgusting, you wouldn’t have minded if they were Cadburys.

The corner routine has been sucessful against Posh recently too. Gilbert's delivery is terrific.

    Thanks for the commentary, class

i was away in France on a lads weekend. Sat in a bar streaming on my phone, none of the other 5 Cafc… moaning at me being unsociable

changed bar at half time and missed the first 7-8 mins and sighed in sheer frustration that we’d gone 0-1 after such a great first half

went loopy with the two goals much to most of my mates embarrassment in a packed bar in a ski resort , although 2 of them are sympathisers and bought into during stoppage time

comfortably the better team but the finishing/ quality around the box was so bad til the goals!!

can’t wait for tomorrow now - but trying to keep feet on the ground !

some of our shooting is soooo lame,  Connor Coventry surely must be able to strike a ball or ping it at least on target better than the guff he regularly produces .

Great finish to the game. I can't get my head around why some are still reluctant to give Jones any credit, the ever decreasing number who don't rate him and think he's just got lucky since early December, but I'm sure everyone's pleased we're contending for top six at the moment. We have a chance. Season very much alive.
Whether or not Jones stumbled upon the formation that improved our fortunes, it’s always worth remembering that he had a big say on recruitment and squad size. It wasn’t long ago we thought that he was rash letting too many players go, and was signing the wrong sort of players. I think if you look at the squad now, you have to accept that it’s greatly improved from what it was a year ago, and he has played a big part in that.
He also seems to be good at motivating players, and his substitutions have more often than not proved very fruitful. The squad is also much fitter than it used to be, and again I think he played a part in that, so kudos to him. I’m trying not to get carried away, but when you look where we were after the Crawley game it’s night and day compared to where we are now.
Really looking forward to Tuesday now, and I hope that there’s a decent turnout.

I just wish that our players wouldn't goad the home fans. I find it unclassy and unnecessary.
It’s an odd one this, because generally I don’t think we do goad the oppo fans that much. Maybe a bit, but it’s not something I’ve noticed when watching on tv. Happy to be corrected by those who go to games, but that’s my impression.
Makes me wonder if there was a particularly nasty element in the Orient crowd yesterday? It’d surprise me because I’ve always felt Os fans were alright. I know NJ mentioned getting dogs abuse, but he was in a totally different part of the ground from where our players went to do their shithousing.

Apparently there were lots of racist comments aimed at our players.
Could explain a lot, where did you hear that ?

Great comments from Paul Parker after the first goal:

'I just think that was one of those moments, Josh Keeley has had a wonderful game and he suddenly thought "I'm Superman here, everything's going well, I'm indestructable" and he's gone for something that he shouldn't have really gone for in a way and he's there, thinking he can go and get it, he couldn't and there was somebody waiting to eat it up and, be honest, Charlton thoroughly deserve to be in this game, I have to say that."

    And after the second goal:

A long pause followed by "I'm going to leave this to Louis"

    😀
That was very good analysis. Being at the game I wasn't even aware that he was MOTM, but it shows how tough the life of a keeper is, and how you can be defined by split second decisions you make.

It's been so difficult for me, I'm laid up in a hospital bed in the centre of Leicester. I'm in absolute agony and hoping for an operation to relieve the pain. Then I'm told, Sat morning, that op will be in the afternoon! I was gutted.
Anyway 2pm came and went as did 2.30. So I tuned in to listen on Charlton Live.
3 pm I'm told op is postponed for today, try again tomorrow.
I was ecstatic! I listened to whole game and went wild when we won it, lying in agony with 'tears' in my eyes due to winning at the final whistle was more than I could take.
My op took place Sunday morning and I ,sadly, can't walk. I'll keep fighting but need CL to fight with me!!

Just thought I'd make a observation about Matty Godden...

One of the things I've noticed about him in this good run, is how clever his positioning is...

We all know about his clever near post flicks, but he also is always trying to get in the 'keeper's eyeline. It means that sometimes the 'keeper doesn't see the ball until very late, and can lead to deflections, own goals, etc.

On Saturday, for the 2nd goal he took up a position that allowed others to attack the far post corner. I didn't think, for an instant, that he fouled the 'keeper. He took a position that blocked off any attempt by the 'keeper to get to the ball. Now, that is real team play! A striker, foregoing his own instincts to score, to make sure others get a real chance...

He's an incredibly intelligent, hard working, unselfish member of the team.
I think that highlights what this team are doing so well, him in particular but not exclusively. Its not (just) 11 good players doing their own thing, they actually properly work together as an actual team. We've not really had that since Bowyer's best days and even then it seemed to unravel towards the bitter end.

11 for 11, player for player, we've had better sides even in L1 but I genuinely don't think there's many outside maybe SCP's champions that were a better team.

Charlton winning with goals in the 91st and 97th minute would have been enough for me. But Dartford won 2-1 with two injury times goals. And Deportivo La Coruña also scored an injury time winner. What a weekend that was.

    What. A. Day.

Great fun in Kapture pre match learning the words to the new Tyreece song. And sharing an enormous cheese platter.

Through a right old creaky turnstile into a very old-fashioned ground (two ladies cubicles).
Seats right behind a couple of the lovely German Addicks. Pillar in the way but at least it only obscured the middle of the pitch. Very glad I had sunglasses. Should have been winning by halftime but instead they go one up early in second. Pratley may be a prat but he dominated midfield. How long since we stupidly let him go?

Starting to think it wouldn’t be our day. No scoreboard to show how long left. Get to 90 then Gilbert’s corners take over. Fantastic scenes. Loved being part of it.

One of the best ever away days. So glad I was there.
There is a scoreboard at the far end of the stand we were in, admittedly not easy to see from where we were
