Shame we don’t do a player of the match, think their keeper might have got it, would probably be quiet a unique double.0

Any truth to the rumour that as part of Reg's transfer to Orient, they were contractually obliged to ensure he play the full 90 against us?4

Got the goal alerts on my watch during the speeches at a wedding... Totally worth being read the riot act from my wife when I almost jumped out of my chair at the second goal17

Silly billy, I saw your criticism of Small on the score on the doors but he is playing on the wrong side so his crosses with his right foot will be a tad erratic but his relationship with Ramsey is the reason he spends more time on the right and TC and Edwards more on the left. We needed players to bond and assist each other and Ramsey confirmed this in an interview about his understanding with Thierry.
I'm definitely a fan of switching TC and Small to their natural sides to give defenders a different problem during a game for a period but while it's works no problem and you must realise if and when his crosses are sublime he won't be playing for CAFC ! Sad but true.
Seen too many good players leave CAFC so if we win and talents like Small have an average game no problems as Small on the right with Ramsey and Edwards on the left with TC are the reasons that we have improved and the results endorse this thought.10 -

It’s an odd one this, because generally I don’t think we do goad the oppo fans that much. Maybe a bit, but it’s not something I’ve noticed when watching on tv. Happy to be corrected by those who go to games, but that’s my impression.jimmymelrose said:

It’d surprise me because I’ve always felt Os fans were alright. I know NJ mentioned getting dogs abuse, but he was in a totally different part of the ground from where our players went to do their shithousing.
As an aside, what was Thierry trying to do when he sat down with his back to them? Ref pretty much immediately told him to pack it in, but was he making a bit of a point?fenaddick said:Second goal and some excellent shithousing

Think Small was going to feign an injury to waste time and the ref was saying it was basically over anywaylordromford said:

A cruel irony that the Orient player on the line for both goals was Sean Clare, the look on his face when the ball hits the back of the net is priceless.6

I lived in Leytonstone 2008-2010 and it definitely wasn’t posh then! That whole neighbourhood has changed a lot in recent years.Blucher said:

Well, if that’s true it’s both understandable that our players rubbed it in their faces, but it’s also very disappointing that this is still a thing at football matches.redbuttle said:

Forgot about it but Ramsey’s goal saving header under the bar was also pivotal to the win.13

Well worth watching. Nice to see their lad at the end in awe of the away fans.cafcsinger said:https://youtu.be/KQukaJvvS2I?si=EMFRI98H7vlsC6VDDecent view of celebrations from about 5.45 onwards or so2 -
A few Orient fans waiting bravely behind a police line by the park outside as I left, clearly looking to start something, I just laughed right into one of their faces telling him he doesn’t have the minerals, not as brave when fronted and his mates didn’t back him up, absolute melts.redbuttle said:

Walked into the electric pub at 14.00 no problem. Security didn't give a shit. Took ages to get a pint as you would imagine.
A couple of orient fans were taking to me obviously unaware I was a Charlton fan. They couldn't hide their delight in hoping they would smash us and we're 2 bob still living on our premiership times.
I did pop on afterwards hoping to bump into them but the queue was too long.1 -
We need to start bumping our goal difference up, it might come down to the wire.0

Yeah we had a few teenage melts giving it Charlie big spuds as we came out of the ground - only a few words from us, and they melted away (sorry for the pun !!)DA9 said:

Nah I think it’s proper knobby , I thought it was a Cnut move when Stansfield did it to us at Birmingham , on the ridiculous thought of maybe they heard Nathan being called names , well that was in a completely different place to the ground where you go and give it if that’s the way you feel .stoneroses19 said:

Maybe, just maybe, some players also heard some of it. Hence the extra animated celebrations towards home end.0 -
That was very odd - just random Orient fans waiting outside the away end trying to start something. The age of them too, it wasn’t just teenagers being dickheads, some of those blokes were in their 40’s & 50’s. If you’re over the age of 17 and you want to spend your Saturday evening standing outside a park trying to get a rise out of fans of another football team you’ve really got to consider whether you’re making the most of your life.Lordflashheart said:

Mitchell was dishing it out to one set of fans at The Valley earlier in the season. I’m not fussed either way but dish it out you have to expect it back. Just like at a reserve game at Welling back in the day I gave Cascarino stick and he turned round and shouted ‘shut up fatty’ to me. Didn’t bother me, found it funny, I dished it out, I got it back.lordromford said:

That was fucking brilliant
absolutely shattered after that bouncing around like a loon at the end and for 20 mins after
Kids were getting shit from Orient mates during the game sending messages etc and they gave them a barrel load back ….
those missed chances were beyond pathetic but the result is what mattered
I get goosebumps watching it all over again(I reckon I’ve watch it 20 times at least and from plenty of different angles , thank you to all who put up those links )
and the scenes and limbs were superb
mrs told me off for standing on a chair at the end and bouncing around like a mad man cos I could fall and hurt myself or someone else , I wouldn’t have felt any pain in that ground at any point I’d had to hold little shit for the whole game as he stood on a chair and Peter Kay was on crutches Poor fucker ,
petrol head was buzzing 2nd in some go kart guff in the morning and that win, me and him going Stockport now was gonna be mum but I’m a glory boy .
i said I’d need a couple of viagra to raise one for an Orient v Charlton game wrong ❌ yesterday smashed that view to pieces .

Unfortunately the old south London adage of “don’t give it if you can’t take it” has been lost in modern society. See as an example fans who’ll give an opposition player dogs abuse all match and then lose their minds if said player makes some minor gesture towards them after he inevitably scores a goal.LargeAddick said:

Do you mean against Wrexham? I’m pretty sure he was shithousing that knobhead James McClean rather than the fans, but I may have forgotten him winding the fans up too to be fair. 🤔LargeAddick said:

One of those things like timewasting or holding the ball in the corner where you love your team doing it but hate the oppo doing it!0
