Personally, I've never been much of a fan of spending time worrying about what people I don't know have in their underwear, when I see them in a pub. But lots of people do. And it causes them a disproportionate amount of stress.
So, perhaps it would be useful to decide where these two people must be forced to go when they need to use a loo in a pub. Although, of course, it must be the same answer for both.
Anyone care to decide on their behalf?
Really easy. If they have a penis they use the men’s. If they have a vagina, it’s the ladies. If they are genuinely concerned about that, then they make use of the gender neutral single cubical disabled toilets.
Are you volunteering to inspect them before they enter? It really isn't easy at all.
It is easy, it’s how it’s been since the year dot.
When did they introduce genital disclosure in the pubs you go to?
They never have. It’s called social convention, and has worked relatively well so far.
So, is this genital disclosure self declared?
Call it what you want, the good news is the majority call it common sense.

Yes, this is where I wholeheartedly agree with you. For the majority of people, common sense prevails. They can be sure that, whatever gender loo someone uses, it must be the right one. And they needn't waste time worrying about it. After all, most people realise it's absolutely none of their business. Which is, of course, how it should be.

You don’t agree with me at all Jiz, as I believe if you have a penis you use the men’s, and if you have a vagina it’s the ladies. It’s a legal technique which clearly you are familiar with, but which doesn’t always work.

If that's the rule, then great! Is there any evidence that it's not been adhered to (except for the odd admission on this thread)? Certainly not in the original post.
Anyway, the point is, if no-one checks, then the "rule" is preposterous. But, if there are checks, is that something you - or anyone else - would want?
(Seems the "really easy" description falls away at this point).
I believe in Live and Let Live, but some stuff I don’t have a clue about.
I would have thought transgender would affect 1 in a million.
But feels wrong a man who dresses as a woman to use a Ladies loo.
1 in a million ??? Have a laugh. Have you seen the stats for trans women in women prisons in Scotland.
I'm not a Trump supporter but to me there are only 2 sexes.....men & women. I dont care if you believe you are a woman trapped in a mans body (funny how its not usually the other way round) but if you have a penis then you use the male toilet. Until you have an operation to fully change your sex then, sorry, you have to use the facilities appropriate to the genetalia you were born with.
What stats have you seen? According to this report there are seven trans women in women’s prisons in Scotland.
It seems to me that this topic is vastly over-discussed, probably entirely to whip up a hysteria, given how few people actually are trans.
7 out of how many ?? I even if its 7,000 that's 1 in a thousand.....a bit more than 1 in a million that the poster I was replying to made a comment about.
And to answer your final point......I agree that there are probably very few trans gender people. But I expect there are more men who claim to be transgender than are actually trans. It's to do with trying to outwit society and trying to get away with crimes when caught & tried by the courts.
Couldn’t care less. It doesn’t matter. Not one bit.
Not sure what “left wing” has to do with getting your cock out either.
You couldn't care less but you are speaking as a man - don't you care how women feel? I think it matters.
Yea but unfortunately for you women, it appears many leftys men on here have more sympathy with a fella in a wig flopping his dick out in your private space than they do you. Weirdos.

I didn’t actually think the “one in a million” comment was intended to be a statistical analysis on the prevalence of transgender people in society. I thought it was a phrase intended to mean, as 99.99% of people would assume, something that’s pretty rare. Which it is.
Something tells me the original poster knew that this thread would whip up a load of comment. What the point is I’m less clear on.

We went into a restaurants toilets a little while ago and it was mixed. Didn’t bother me but the wife didn’t like the idea that she was using a loo previously used by a man. But what neither of us liked was the fact there were also urinals in there. I don’t think that is right at all.
Do you segregate your toilets at home then?
Is your front door permanently open to allow the general public of every sex/gender access to your home toilet unchecked at the same time? If not it seems a false equivalence.

Going to the loo on planes or trains (not southeastern as the loos are always shut) must be quite challenging though.
In many places in France you will find unisex public toilets. The principle that some people don't get is it is beyond a left or right thing. It is a reality thing. Yes you can invent a scenario where a transvestite gets their todger out and swings it about for all to see, or you can live in the real world where they would use a cubicle and people in the toilet would be none the wiser. There are not sex checks to enter a toilet and never will be.

Golfie- where is your proof? You are speaking rubbish when talking about trans people

I've never known loos on trains or planes to be accessed by more than one person at a time so little danger to women of being flashed/molested/assaulted/raped. I don't understand. Maybe I've been whooshed?

You've never heard of more than one person being in a plane toilet at the same time?
I travelled on an airbus a few years ago to Cuba. It had a downstairs toilet area with about 6 cubicles. Men and women went down the stairs and waited together in the toilet area. When a cubicle was free they went in and locked the door, which is what they would do in a public toilet.

My wife has been to a few places with unisex toilets and has not entered and gone elsewhere as she is not comfortable with men in the same toilet area as women. Bearing in mind the amount of women who are victims of sexual abuse I fully understand.

So how do you intend to stop a transvestite who looks like a woman using a women's toilet? And how do you intend to ensure a woman who may look a bit manly is able to access one? These are fair questions that need answering if your position has a bearing on reality.

Agree completely with your point. Just one thing, people generally prefer to be called transgender or simply trans.

I'm not sure why you've become so condescending in recent times. You appear to have changed personality.
The issue many women have is not wanting to be in toilets with men. If it a single toliet on a train or plane then that is not an issue. I'm surprised you need that explaining.
NB if you want further clarity my mum was raped, my wife has been assaulted and my sister flashed (the three women who were/are closest family).

I can accept that, but can you answer my questions then as surely they are fundamental to how a ban could be realistically applied.
Also, it is well known fact that women are more likely to have queues in their toilets. I am sure we all know that it is not uncommon that they will sometimes use the mens in certain situations. Should they be taken to court for this?
If you want to attack trans people, surely you need to come up with a better example than an irrelevant unenforcable one.
