Anyone know when our play off games are likely to be and the final? I’m in Greece 17th May to 24th be gutted to miss it. (We are definitely getting there).
League One Play-Off Final is scheduled between 24-26th May.
Semi-Finals are estimated (not confirmed) to be around

I've had a feeling for some weeks that we will beat Wrexham at Wembley.
What feelings did you have in our other successful and unsuccessful playoff seasons?
Last time we were in the play offs I was 100% confident we would go up. In fact I was so confident that travelling up to Doncaster I saw a bunch of Pompey fans travelling up to Sunderland at the service station for the other play off game I quietly chuckled to myself that they were wasting there time making the trip because we were ultimately going to win the play offs, nearly told one of them too!
This time round i'm feeling confident we'll make the play offs and may even surge for a top 2 finish on the basis 3rd to 6th could be quite tight and wondering if Wycombe may drop into the mix but ultimately think it'll be beyond us. Not as confident as the previous play offs though as I feel one key injury could disrupt the entire way we're set up to play.
I've said for a while this season is feeling like the season Bow took over from Karl Robinson. Started alright but playing some not great football, slump in the middle, before a resurgence (when Bow took over) to get us back in the mix and make the playoffs. But ultimately didn't have enough to go up.
That's how I feel about this one.
the replacement words for the line ‘and now we’ve got Lee Bowyer’

22/23 Final Day Regular Season Sunday 7th May First Legs Friday 12th, Saturday 13th Second Legs Thursday 18th, Wednesday 19th
23/24 Final Day Regular Season Saturday 27th April First Legs Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th May Second Legs Tuesday 7th, Wednesday 8th

Too soon for that. You’d need to know what the weather is going to be like and what train strikes are planned so that the most inconvenience for fans can be factored in.
Oxford in 6th had 55pts from 33 games. This year 6th has 53pts from 33 games.
Last season ended with Barnsley 6th having 76pts and Lincoln 7th having 74pts so we are on track for a similar sort of points tally unless we see the unlikely scenario that multiple clubs go on very good runs of form at the same time.
Form table looking beautiful after Orient's back-to-back losses.
In those 10 games, Huddersfield have only picked up 11 points.
It’s quite possible that the league table could finish like this with Wycombe and then Wrexha m shoehorned in just behind us.
If, this Saturday, for example we were to win, and Wycombe lose to Birmingham , then we’d be 8 points behind them. We’d only then need to make up 4-6 points on them during March and early April to go into our game against them 2-4 points behind. If a win against them were to put us within 3 points then the last two matches would be a real chase, possible needing a result against Wrexham to pass them too.
The biggest downer that we’ve got is our squad depth imo. During our recent run we ’ve been starting with the same 14 players wheres other teams have been using up to 26 starters (L.O have this highest number). That doesn’t bode well if we get a bad injury or two.
I’m not saying it’s likely we can finish 2nd but without said injuries, I’m optimistic we can fight for it.

Obviously facts are lost in the mists of time but I can’t recall wholesale changes to the starting line ups in the latter stages for the teams that won promotion under Curbs, SCP and Bowyer. Playing once or twice a week more than likely makes a player more resilient to injury I would guess.

This potentially works both ways though.
If we have a settled side playing well and keeping injury free then they get on a roll and and go on a run (as we currently are doing). Other teams with perhaps the exception of Birmingham who have about 20 good players would i'm sure also like to be fielding settled sides as well but can't because of injuries and suspensions.
But yes luck with injuries does play a part of course. For example Arsenal losing Saka, City losing Rodri and Liverpool being able to play Van Dijk and Salah every game.

I'm at a mate's wedding on the 10th so really hope it's not that date or I might need to have a conversation with the groom

It's bonkers why every season the dates can't be pretty much set well in advance, it's almost March and yet no one has firm confirmation of the period over the finals dates at Wembley and the dates over which the semi-final will be played
Im not sure why but Im already getting those nervous anticipation feelings about the game on Saturday. They only normally start on the day of a match, it must be the magnitude of the game, win and we are cooking on gas

Some of you are bloody awful at arranging your holidays
It never ceases to amaze me. Obviously not important to many.
Genuinely booked mine when we were 17th or something. Clearly had little faith at the time but that comes with near on 40 years of suffering at the valley for me.
If we’re at Wembley I’ll be gutted, but won’t mind too much if the result goes our way.
Learnt my lesson back in 2019 when I never thought we’d make the play offs in a million years, let alone get to Wembley, so missed out as we were in Rome that day on a Med. Cruise. Never again.
I think the final will be on the 25th so will be watching in Genoa if we make it. I will be in England for the semis. My brother thinks we can bag second and he is usually pretty pessimistic.

He may not be wrong. There are too many teams in the mix and those above and below us must therefore drop points. We just need to maintain the momentum we’ve been building and see where we end up.

If we win Saturday and Wycombe lose, its game on for 2nd - not just because of the 3 points but that we can go away to a top end rival and beat them at the business end of the season - lose and it’s a scramble for the play offs - big big game Saturday
