Yes of course we can still make the play offs but…. - I think it’s going to take more than 75 points - the players are going to have to get over yesterday very quickly - fatigue cannot be allowed to become a factor. That is going to take skilled management from NJ and his team - in the forthcoming away games against other ‘contenders’ we cannot afford to show the opposition the same respect as we did in the first half yesterday. It took us 50-60 mins to work out that they’re not Real Madrid. We are as good as all the other sides and need to keep believing that.
You are going to get bad days and good days with other results. Just focus on yourself. We will win on Saturday and will probably be back in the play off places again. In terms of points, we don't know but it could be as high as 77.
League leaders Brum have lost just 2 games, one of which was against us and they have by far the best defence record in the league. I really wouldn't use the 'free game' (as we all called it 24 hours ago) as a prediction for the rest of the season.
I think they will fall off and it will be between us, Bolton and Huddersfield for 5th and 6th. Worst thing about yesterday was Huddersfield getting their first win for a while

Yeah Huddersfield have 5 of the 'top' teams still to play... going to be a interesting couple of months.
25 points required from 15 games. Still plenty of twists, turns and dropped points to come for every team involved.
1.7 points per game feels very achievable. I think we’ll qualify for the playoffs and, given that I don’t think the teams in this division bar Birmingham are actually particularly good, we’ve got a decent chance once we get there.
probably not now, though they have got a lot closer than I thought possible at the beginning of the season.
Yeah we've left ourselves with a mountain to climb after a narrow 1-0 defeat away to the runaway league leaders that leaves us sat all the way down in 7th with 15 games to play.
In the form table over both the last 10 games and 15 games, we are 4th. Keep that up and we'll definitely make the play offs.
It's our ability to get results away from home that makes me think we'll just miss out.
Birmingham, Stockport, Wycombe and Wrexham away left to do. Orient away has become a huge game as well.
Not too down about yesterday's result and as I never thought we'd get anything up there, but the performance from many of our key players did worry me as it looked like the occasion got to them.
Orient, Stockport, Wrexham and Wycombe left to do away from home. I don't think we can afford to lose them all, but beat Orient in a few weeks and I think top 6 is ours to throw away.
If we keep winning at home then we'll probably only need to pick up 2-3 wins away to make the play offs. We still have to go to Crawley, Cambridge, Mansfield and Peterborough so they're going be our best chances of a win. Obviously if we pick up points away to any of the top 6 that we face then that is a bonus.
We need both Wrexham & Stockport to win their games against teams in & around us, other than we play them. This will ensure that the other teams stay within our reach, it then up to us.
During the long train journey home (longer than necessary) I was predicting the results vs opponents for the run in with my son. Against all my years and heartbreaks, I went with it and was totally drawn in by his youthful optimism!
We have very winnable games vs Exeter (h), Crawley (a), Wigan (h), Peterborough (a), Lincoln (h), Cambridge (a), Northampton (h) & Burton (h). 5 at home and 3 away (all vs the current bottom 5).
That’s a possible 74 points excluding games vs Orient, Barnsley, Stockport, Huddersfield, Wycombe & Wrexham. Drop a couple from the “winnable” games and nick a couple from those around us and it’s still somewhere around 74 points!
Avoid key injuries and I think we make it!! Brining it back to the near future, we must beat Exeter!! 7 points from Orient, Barnsley & Stockport would be dreamland! Exciting times!
It's all on a knife edge. Our first team can give anyone a game but the attack, especially the wide players needs rotating and we simply don't have like for like replacements in the main squad. Unless one or two players in the youth team are able to step up and fill in I think we'll either miss the playoffs or go into them so knackered we fail to turn up.
Given that this is a thread where posters are predicting playoff prospects, if a result changes their view and they wish to share it, that seems fair enough to me. To answer the question, I've a feeling we'll just miss out and haven't changed my mind about that, but I can't explain why and hope I'm wrong.
Do people think we should ignore the top 3 (maybe 4) as "uncatchable" and concentrate on the teams around us in 5th, 6th, 8th & 9th ?
ie, wanting Wrexham & Stockport to beat Orient & Huddersfield.
Also, how far down the table are teams still able to catch us. I think no lower than Barnsley, and even then I think they are "out if it". I see it as 5 teams (Huddersfield, Orient, us, Bolton & Reading) chasing just 2 places.

Situation should be managed as a whole on a game by game basis, for everyone around us, bar Birmingham in my opinion.
Was reading comments from Wycombe fans after yesterday who didnt seem impressed with the performance against Crawley and struggled to understand why their signings in January havent had much game time (oh the irony of that one alone) - I still think as a result that Wycombe could be caught, especially if they've chosen the wrong Manager.
Wrexham and Stockport could still end up having an injury crisis, whilst we went from 12-pts (?) behind Barnsley not too long ago, to now 8-pts ahead of them - If we can do that in a short time period, we can do similar again, but also need to be wary that any team around us could do the same, if not better
Good job we’ve got a manager who can do all our worrying for us! 🙄
Just keep winning, yes we’ve got tough matches coming up, but so have other teams.
If we can go on a run of 7 wins out of the next 10 games, we’ll probably be in the play offs.
If not then we probably won’t be in the playoffs.
We had 5 months, out of being in the top 6, and when we did get in the top 6, stayed there for 2 matches.
We've lost one match, and dropped out of the top 6 again, so shows how much ground we had to make up, to get anywhere near the top 6.
Some might have wanted a Tuesday night match for us, to ‘bounce back’ from.
Me, i’m pleased we’ve got a few days to plan, and prepare for the next match, as fatigue can play a part, mental and physical.
Im sitting on the fence, at the moment, but look at it this way, it’s a darn sight better than where we were a year ago, looking over our shoulder, fearing relegation, I’d sooner this scenario, any day of the week.

That’s all I am doing, automatic promotion is fantasy, the way I see it there are a number of teams including us chasing 5th and 6th
