I’m all for letting games flow, but this ref is letting an awful lot go. Barely blown his whistle all game.
They’re very very handsy with Campbell
Not as handsy as Mitchell was shoving their bloke into the advertising boards. I always thought pushing someone was a foul.
So did I, but I've been disabused of that notion by seeing how many two handed shoves I've seen players get away with.
  • A DVD of this should be put in a time capsule along with a note saying that is called ‘League 1 football’ and that people paid to watch it.
  • Zzzzz. Wycombe can pass you off the pitch but if they're second in table then it really is a poor division.

No real urgency, no decent supply for the forwards, looks like weve set up for the draw.  The team look jaded and Gillespie worries me with the turning circle of an oil tanker.

Can see Godden coming on at this rate.

  • Yawn fest.  Wycombe too of the league tells you all you need to know about the quality of league 1. Pitch needs a serious enquiry. Hope we kept the receipt.
  • Both teams have cancelled each other out really. Not one for the neutrals.
  • Tight half. They look good but we are holding them. Berry has had two good chances but fluffed them. Everyone is battling and doing ok. We will need fresh legs after an hour so I expect Ahadme and Godden to be on then for TC and Miles. Campbell for Berry. Not much else we can do. A point would be a good result. COYA!

    Attendance 15,455 including 1,457 Wycombe
A question for anyone actually at the ground:

Does the crowd look anything like 15.5k?

I've given these two Christmas home games a miss: didn't fancy driving down on Boxing Day as that would have meant leaving my wife to deep clean our house on her own once our Christmas guests had gone home and we had a 40th birthday party to go to last night - there's no way I'd have been OK to drive at 7am today to be at The Valley for kick off!

Both matches being on TV helped my decision making.

Bit pingpongy up the RHS at the mo and eventually we're caught offside.
    Royal Horticultural Society? :/
    Right Hand Side :)
  • 0-0 but Berry had two good chances early doors and credit to Charlton for negating Wycombe who are a free scoring team.

The Problem is they have two of their best forwards on the bench today in Kone and Onyedinma who will play a part in the 2nd half.

  • Decent enough half.

One thing you can't criticise today is the effort the team have put in. Everyone has put a real shift in. Just wonder if they will be able to keep that going for another 45 minutes.

And do wonder though if we are going to have the craft or guile to be able to break down a very strong Wycombe defence.

Pitch is a real mess. I hope some serious questions are going to be asked about this.

Genuinely, is it so hard to source a decent commentator? This one is abysmal. Almost as bad as the one in the Bromley game.
Another one that’s been held at gunpoint and forced to commentate

  • Amazing how many people thought we'd get smashed by them, yet we're doing OK, still people moan. I just don't get it, they're on a 19 match unbeaten run and they've had 1 shot on target, well so have we!
They’ve had 2 SOT but yeah I take your point.

Hasn’t been that bad. By no means the worst example of League 1 football that I’ve seen even in the last few weeks.
  • Decent 1st half we should be 1 up but I think this game will turn once the bench is used as they have 2 or 3 players to come on that will win the game for them whereas we have Alan Campbell and Ahadme
  • The way we play it’s not the end of the world having a bit of a ropey pitch. Decent leveller
  • Thought that was a decent performance against such an in-form and well organised team. Main concern is TC and Miles will tire, and we don’t have good replacments for them, whereas Wycombe have their leading scorer on the bench
    The voice of reason.

I doubt it’s 15,455 but it’s not as massively under that as you might expect.

Id take another half of that.

Wycombe are a very physical and nasty team, and we are matching them which is good.

Theyve made changes and we have not though, so it’s going to take a big effort second half to keep them contained.
