No one from Pboro will come cheap though. Logic would dictate it makes sense for them to sell but DMac is incredibly stubborn. Their fans aren’t very happy with him or how things are going
When Bolton were after Joel Randall, they were quoted 1.5 million which Bolton off, Peterborough always take the piss. Rumours they're back in for him though.

Poku would be an awesome signing.

When he was playing earlier in the season Peterborough looked top 6 material. He has a similar impact for them as Lloyd Jones does for us.

Expect he could get a championship club but if he is out of contract in the summer we should definitely enquire. They were willing to sell us JCH last Jan rather than let him go for nothing 6 months later.
I personally think he's the best forward in the league. Quite quick, excellent left foot, fairly decent on his right as well, good finisher.

Probably ready for the championship but the injury has halted it. Think teams will want to see how he looks when he comes back from injury first.
  • I have heard numbers like £3m for Kwame. Few championship clubs watching closely as well.

Well he's out of contract in the summer by the looks of things,  and I don't think Peterborough will be entitled to any fees cause of his age and I don't think they developed him? Might be wrong.

As @ForeverAddickted said, complete pipe dream atm. That's one for if we manage to go up, we will have a chance. I was just listing the decent Peterborough players out of contract soon.
  • Would expect Poku to go to the top of the championship, class act that's too good for this level. £3m would be the minimum fee I would guess Posh would even entertain, could even end up being more than that once Darragh starts negotiating.

  • I think the view of Lloyd & Thierry being sold, would be about CM looking for cash / lack of ambition a little unfair. Neither player is going to sign a new contract unless we’re promoted this season.

Lloyd is 29, he has one good contract left, he’s getting interest from teams firmly in the promotion race in league one and the championship.
Thierry won’t sign for us in league one, the only reason he’s here this year is because we exercised the 1 year option and his agent couldn’t manufacture a role elsewhere.
Then make our offer to Jones at least as good as what he’s being offered elsewhere. He’s a key player and whatever fee we receive would need to be spent to adequately replace him. It’s not incoming money if you need to spend it to replace. We know he’s good enough and if we have ambition we need to keep him. Would be different if the offers were for millions but they’re not. As for Thierry Small. If he wants out then I doubt we can prevent that but what is he ? 20. If he moves on again it will be his sixth club. I think he’s done ok with us and needs to think of sticking somewhere and getting games under his belt.
Lloyd is not going to take an offer to guarantee playing league one football next season! We talk about our ambition, what of the ambition of the player?

    100% agree about Thierry.
It is a good point about Lloyds ambition. When I spoke to him, he was well aware of his stats and even said to me he was one of the best performers this season. These are the type of things that get attention these days as there's so much eyes on data, and the money spent on it all. It's fairly reliable.

He's the highest rated player in the whole league on one of the most renowned data sites. He will be on the radar of the majority of league1 and the lower end championship sides.

The more I think about it, the more likely he is going to go. There's only two scenarios I don't mind.

We keep him and he goes for free next season which at least gives us a chance of play-offs.

    Or,

We sell him, and with the money replace him with a like-for-like. Paudie O'Connor for instance has almost identical stats to him, is just behind him in 2nd in the ratings, marginally better and worse in some areas, and has experience playing in a back 3 and with our current centre back, Mitchell.

The worst case is we sell him and the club try and force REG in the team as cover, which genuinely wouldn't surprise me.

He's absolutely immense, but if we could get a decent fee for him, and he's not willing to sign, we could get a fairly decent replacement where other clubs also don't want to lose a player for nothing. Like O'Connor.

Fraser Horsfall, Jason Kerr top of my head could fill his shoes potentially, if they were to settle here and if their clubs were willing to sell. Horsfall is out of contract in the summer.
While I agree either some of this, if he goes it just reconfirms that whoever makes decisions at the club is a know nothing chancer.
We've all said the january window is notoriously problematic, so why offload one of best performers at the club. So we can go bargain hunting in a difficilt market hoping another club will do us a favour and allow us to take a decent player off thrir hands gir a reasonable fee?
Is that how other recent january trading have worked? Or will we sell cheap and buy some 33 year old league 2 player on the cheap (with a few apoearences with Luton back in tge year 2000) 'cos we just beat Wycombe and the squad has gelled?
We have an awful track rrecord in january. Let's not add another chapter of crass stupidity.

Got to say with Peterborough’s league position and form, there are a number of players who are out of contract in the summer that I’d love for us to have a go at signing. They’ve got a really young squad but a number of talented players.
Kwame Poku is excellent. Injured currently and think he's had injury issues in the past? But only 23 and a lot of potential.

Malik Mothersille another very decent winger. 7 goals and 4 assists. Meant to be very sulky though and been compared to have an attitude similar to Marcus Maddison from some of their fans. Not sure if he'd fit in here.

Ricky-Jade Jones is the most interesting for me. Thing he could be a real project and we don't have any strikers atm with his gifted pace. Closest is probably TC but I always see him more as a winger.

Those are all out of contract in the summer.

Archie Collins is another one who would be a good pick up for most teams in this league. He has a year and a half left though.

As usual, you can look at Peterborough and spot out 3 or so very decent players.
Good call about Ricky-Jade Jones, especially if this recent trend of one striker pulling wide is to continue. He definitely has the profile to be able to do that and would add better finishing to the equation over TC.

    Fastest player in the world
  • So Poku is going to the championship for 3 million but our fan base thinks Miles market value is ten million.  Hmmm
Poku is out of contract in the summer, else I imagine Posh would want about 10m themselves

Would be looking at a similar fee to Lookman with add-ons etc but with 6 months to run £3-4m is probably all they're going to get.

This is what I mean, God given pace. We lack pace up top and all over the pitch tbh.

He's on 5 goals and 3 assists so far this season in the league, if we go all comps he's on 11 goals. Last season he managed 9 goals and 4 assists in the league.

He's not the finished article by any stretch but I think with the right coaching you never know how far he could go. I'd love us to be interested in a player like this and not a has been.

If we were to sign him I'd assume Ahadme/Kanu would be going out on loan? Hopefully not seen as a miles replacement. We were keen in the summer.

Someone on here mentioned local lad Nathan Baxter recently (as a possible goalkeeper target).

He’s unexpectedly been dropped today despite starting most games for Bolton this season & only conceding one goal in the last 3 games.

Out of contract in June so could be on the way (somewhere!)
I am (and PaddyP17 is) on vaguely friendly terms with him and it'd be amazing for him to sign for us. He's a local lad and it'd make so much sense
When I've spoken to him about Charlton in the past he has said he'd always be open to the possibility. That means very little as we haven't spoken properly in a fair while, but who knows, if he pitches up at The Valley (I suspect he'll have designs on the Championship though) I would be delighted.

This would be so charlton to sign a striker thats hasnt played all season
Our recruitment team showing how shit they are as usual.

What a pants signing that would probably be.
  • I know it’s the Luton connection again but surely Taylor who was on loan at Lincoln last year? Absolutely incredible at this level

Seriously doubt we’ll be making cash bids for anyone. Three or four out and two loans in. Unless we’ve accepted bids for our players when we might look to replace with permanent ins.
Where did the Alfie May money go? Many don't seem to believe we spent a lot on Ahadme. We certainly didn't spend a lot on a 33-year-old Godden. That only leaves Mitchell who had told Millwall he wasn't going to sign a new contract.

Should be loads May's fee left. (Unless it was spent on Ahadme.)
Add that to the Arron Collins money that never materials and we have a proper warchest lol
Wonder who the Collins of this window will be - the one who CM leaks that we really were going to spend money on, honest, but it didn't quite happen.

As Etete is 6'6, he would only make sense as an Ahadme replacement. However I can't see Ahadme leaving, they'd want to give him more time to settle in before cutting their losses, while Kanu is a very different type of player.

Maybe they think Kanu needs a loan and Etete is more of a Jones type striker?
  • DK going out on loan I could see happening if he's stuck behind Miles,TC,Ahadme, Godden,Hylton and anything they can get out of Chuks. 6 months in League 2 playing every week could be ideal for him.

    Edwards and Dixon.

£870k for Adhadme was the figure I heard.  No idea how much of that was upfront.

CM reported at Bromley IIRC £1.2m spent in the summer which included the May money.
    $870k!!!!  Jesus wept.

Do we know who picked Ahadme - was he a Scott signing that Jones signed off on, or Jones’ own pick?
  • Yet to play this season due to injury. No thanks.
  • Love reading all these names that we don't have a hope in hells chance of signing. Brightens up the long nights.

    Keep 'em coming......

Less than half of the Ahadme figure was upfront, around 300k. The rest of it is based on goals scored and us getting promotion, so I wouldn't worry too much about us paying out for those
Supposing that's the case, where is the rest of the May money, and what accounts for the 1.2m in fees reported by Methven to Bromley Addicks?
