Tovide is a league 2 forward that has missed 15 games through ankle injury in 23/24 and then has missed 12 games through a mix of hip and hamstring injuries in 24/25.
He wasn't available for 25 games in 23/24 and 12 so far in 24/25. From the information online.
The bar is on the ground, and some of you are bringing shovels.
Yawn
If you're tired, get some sleep petal.
Not tired, bored of your constant whining.
Sam Smith missed the first 13 games of last season due to injury
Jamie Vardy was signed from a League 2 team
I'm sure if Peterborough signed him and he scored 10+ goals from now until the end of the season, you'd moan that we never sign players like that

He’s only 21 - some of those injuries might be behind him under our new regime. Would you say the same about the club who eventually sign Miles off us?
I’m not excited about what he could contribute in the next six months. I’m excited about what 25/26 and 26/27 looks like with him in the squad.
That all said, this could all be a massive wind up so grain of salt required. :-)
Realistically we need to be working on the idea that we'll be needing to replace Aneke and Leaburn in the summer , the profile looks good that stylistically Tovide could do that role. Signing him now and giving him time to bed in is potentially very smart business.
Injuries don't especially bother me for a young physical striker , not much difference to what we've had with Miles.

Why would my post be a wind up? Those stats are real and he's had a lot of injury issues.
This window should be used to bring in players who will be ready to make an impact. We already have brought in a promising player who may need time to get going, another might not be the best idea.
I'd like us to be targeting players who we know are fit and ready to make an impact. I don't think that's a crazy ask.

Didn’t you just earlier say you wouldn’t mind us signing Cornick because we are in desperate times?

Well, that's the issue with texts. You can interprete them how you want to in your own mind. You think it's whining, I think it's sharing thoughts on a football forum. Unless you genuinely think I'm making high pitched crying noises while typing messages out, that'd be bizarre.
Not sure the relevancy with your examples? I'm not against league2 signings as I've wanted us to sign players from league2 before. It's just when they're from league2, not tearing it up, injured, and missed loads of games and not fit and ready to make an impact now, doesn't seem like the best idea.
Compared to Vardy who was one of the most prolific forwards in the lower leagues and Sam Smith where I'm not sure what the relevancy is here? Wrexham signed a fit and ready player.
An experienced wide player who can play both wings would have been a good addition. Nevermind - either Wigan have outbid us or we didn't want him because we have somebody else on their way - on the basis CM mentioned a couple as did NJ.

Dale is from the north west so I’d imagine that was probably a factor

If he could stay fit he'd be a championship player , another Jonny Williams type that's got all the quality but just doesn't play enough games.
17 games in the past 3 years*

At a risk of being wooooshed, Sept 28th 2003, were you there by any chance?
because of that hatrick, people forget what a poor record he had for us

BURN THEM!!!!
Couple of days ago , alluded to a midfielder (Gilbert) and a winger they saw as more of a punt if they could make it happen.

I don’t know if I’d describe Tovide as a winger but otherwise it fits lo
