Back on topic, we will sell this out regardless of when we play it.
The importance of the game coupled with this will be a new ground for 99% of the fans there.
Not new for me. I went there in 1981 44 years ago.
Was that the 3-2 defeat in the league or the 6-0 defeat in the cup as unfortunately I went to both 😌
I was at the 6-0, would love to be there for the revenge with a reverse.
All of us that suffered that day, should of course be first on the ticket list and given free first class travel.
That’s fair enough, can’t be many of you around these days!
Particularly as I was one of the handful of charlton at Luton in 1989 when away fans were banned and we conceded 5. Oh, and at Brighton in 1983 when we lost 7-0! Luckily I missed the Burnley away thrashing.
That's why a modicum of success that we're having now is so precious.

Why were away fans banned?
The spanners ran riot, then Luton banned all visiting fans for a few years.
i got tickets from Steve Gritt and was it Airman or someone who turned up in a pub in Luton with about 200 of the plastic tickets for us for one fo the games ... got in for 3 fixtures i think in there when there was an away fan ban ....
I went to the Luton 5-2 defeat with a few friends. One of them managed to borrow a couple of membership cards from a friend, the others blagged tickets from Gordon Watson, who was seeing the sister of one of my friends.
We sat in the main stand being very quiet but when Andy Jones scored there were quite a few people around us cheering and I recognised a few of the regular away travellers.

Might have been Steve Dixon? But we certainly went in numbers.
Rumour in the pub at Mansfield is the game ‘could’ be 5.30 on the Saturday with no trains home after ! I’m in no way itk, just what someone told me at the bar !

Has there been a single game at 5.30 in league one? (other than all the opening games)
Might be waiting upon the two owners agents to get back. No point in moving it for tv if they can’t make the rearranged match and for the camera's not to be able to get a shot or two of them.
