I wonder how much these "famous" scarves cost, how many were sold and how many were left. Ie how much money did the club actually make from them, and was it worth it?

We are far too friendly and welcoming as a football club. Borders on submissive. Is part of the problem that's seen us get turned over year after year.
A welcoming place for all visitors including away teams. Nonsense that does us absolutely no favours and probably helps the oppo.
I am pleased for Wrexham having watching the doc and think good for them as a working class town as the club has really given them as sense of identity and pride....but when it comes to matchday fuck them.

When I went to the shop, after the game, they said they were selling quite well. Then when offered one took one look at them saw that Welcome to London advert behind them and said 'Do you have any of those Welcome to London scarfs with just the Charlton badges on.

Speaks an awful lot in public for a bloke who has achieved sweet FA at the club. Says a lot that his biggest achievement at Charlton is flogging some scarves. Total div.
Listen to the fucking podcast and THEN you can snipe if you want. but clearly a lot of research and effort went in to the whole day and various initiatives were tried. And the fact remains we generated a ton of additional food & drink sales and merchandise as well as an extra 10,000 ticket sales.
Like it or loathe it but Wrexham being a shit-ton of interest so we tapped into it and made some money out of it.
perhaps we should applaud the club for trying to be ahead of the curve.

When the amount of money spent on the transfer market is becoming more controlled by your revenue, a percentage of that, then any extra money raised will be paramount. It seems obvious, but he spoke about a lot of lower league teams rely on their fanbase or owners to fund the majority of the income. I know on here he is seen as a bit of a prick, but to me he spoke a lot of economic sense.

I have watched it. If that extra revenue gets us some decent signings in January and we get promoted, then great - I will give him a shit ton of praise. But until then, in my opinion, he's just gassing himself up for riding the coat tails of Wrexham's own popularity.

Yeah yeah a lot of economic sense, but our owners have to start putting serious money into improving our team, until they do that, we will continue to tread water in this awful league.
I'll give him the praise he thinks he deserves if and when we gain promotion to the championship. All the while we remain a mid table league one side playing crap football I shall continue to think Andy Scott and Charlie Methven are a couple of chancers
