    In some ways that sums up being a football supporter.  Other than the odd joyous blip.
  • I want a manager to inspire players and get us playing decent stuff, being a pitch side lunatic isn't high on my priority list.

    October boasted my optimistism, for November to dent it. 

    Now only 6 points from the next two (league) games will get it back up. I will pissed off if he is focusing on the cups.

    Until he does, he's in denial, and takes us all for idiots.
    Were he to hold his hands up and acknowledge that we lack pace and creativity, then I'd be happy to see him have the January window in order to try to rectify the situation.
    As things stand, I have zero faith that he even recognises where the problems are.
  • I think we are lacking that creative player but there is a way without one which we haven't got close to finding.

    Our recent problems started with Bowyer. Even if he hadn't gone to Brum I feel his time with us was probably up. I want to remember the iconic day at Wembley.

    I am probably  in a minority in believing Nigel should have been given longer. I certainly think JJ deserved a full season following that.

    Having made the switch to Garner , he should have been backed. However, I feel differently about Holden. He was clearly primed for the job ( why else would you watch us live in the Micky Mouse Cup at Plymouth?) and I felt that he was OTT in his fan engagement. I could buy a round of drinks in the Oak but does that make me a good manager?

    I was happy to give Appleton a chance ,but knew as early as Orient away his race was run. I was surprised he was allowed to bring in players in January. 

    And so to Nathan. When he was appointed I felt we needed to allow him two complete seasons. He clearly made an impact last year in resetting a failing squad.

    My view is this should not even be a debate for at least eighteen months.
    I'm not happy but he needs to be given the next two windows to get it right. Should be fully judged this time next year. Wasn't going to sort the problems out in one window. Saying that anything less than six points from the next two games might see my stance change.

    With you 100% on this, although a Burton defeat may upset people behind the scenes.
  • Is part of the problem that neither Jones nor Scott are good at recruitment? At Luton, Jones had Mick Harford helping with that, with the addition of Phil Chapple later on, too. I think we need someone more capable on the recruitment side if we're going to make progress.

    Agree it would help, but we’ll still have a problem if Jones doesn’t want players who’d add creativity and flair.

    Whoever decided T Campbell should be our sole flair player for the season and then decide he'd be better suited up front deserves sacking

    Exactly this.

    We keep a revolving door of sort of alright lower league managers whilst having poor recruitment and owners trying be clever and prove they can succeed on the cheap.

    Until we sort investment and recruitment the manager doesn't matter.

     I personally think the future looks bleak and can see us getting into some serious trouble both on and off the pitch 
  • I like Jones, but the way he setting the side up his massive worry, it is such a negative manner.. just isn’t a modern manager that we need. Lose at the weekend, then he has to go! Done with watch this lump it football and not winning! It’s bad enough watching it when you win!

    Said it from the moment he brought him on against Wrexham. We went from a league one team to a non-league team. Mates rates. Its fucking scandalous.

    What on earth does it matter if he'd have been good five years ago.
    5 years ago was the 19/20 season

    We were in the Championship
    Hylton scored 0 goals in 11 for Luton in the Championship, doubt he would have been a terrific signing for us Nathan 😂😂

    Maybe 7/8 years ago when he scored 20+ goals in League 1 for Luton but he was 27/28 back then lol
  • Nathan Jones is doing terrible.
    But I don’t want him sacked and we start yet another cycle.  
    For once, we go against our feelings and the modern football instant success lust and give someone some time.  
    It’ll be shit now, it might even get worse, but time, let’s give that a go now.
    I don’t want the cycle , but you’re literally saying to keep someone who is clearly inept for the sake of not changing which

    there is nothing absolutely zero to give us hope or indication that he can or will improve going forward
