  • Think we have played well, pressing them into mistakes, shame about the finishing. Gillesphey at LCB getting beaten for pace constantly is a worry
  • Those of you who are having problems with Sky, is it worth rebooting your router now it's half time? I'm usually the queen of shit broadband, and I've had no issues with the NowTV feed on my laptop at all so far (famous last words here probably).
  • Pretty even game. A terrible pen and a screamer the difference. Plenty to play for 2nd half. A few of the boys look knackered
  • Half time stats saying Brum have 72% possession and importantly have won 67% of aerial duels.

Can we not push Watson further up against their 27 when they have the ball with the keeper.
No, their number 7 is in front of the 27 and sitting on Watson to stop him pressing.

As with Wigan we’re going to have to figure out how we stop opposition defenders stepping in to midfield to create an overload.
Makes sense. Was hard to tell on the TV.
  • I thought we've looked really good just lacked a little cutting edge, can't say I'm mad about any performance in that first half, desperately unlucky to be 1-0 down and not 1-0 up. I like that TC stepped up straight away, unfortunate for him. Think we've looked really assured in our shape and are moving it well, will be great when we have all our forwards fit provided Leaburn returns to his best
  • Decent first of football, front two have worked hard and looked lively, just think we are missing a presence up front. Terrible pen, but nobody seemed keen.
  • So, are we in it at all anybody...
We had the first 20 mins. Missed a penalty & Berry's had 3 shots that have gone from high & wide to quite close.

Then Brum got into it. Scored a worldy which was a good goal. That gave then confidence & they had the last 10 mins.

  • We need to keep the ball longer instead of hoofing it down the wings to lose possession.

A fair assessment I would say.

  • Is it me but isn’t Tyreece left footed???
  • Oh dear terrible penalty, handed them the initiative. Still lightweight in midfield and up top, changes needed at halftime. Kanu not in it at all.
  • A decent first half imo lots of really good stuff to be commended although for me Anderson isn’t ready yet to be starting he just doesn’t seem to affect the game

Gillesphey tries a diagonal ball, Watson throws a leg at it but can't quite get to it.
Did anyone pick Watson's leg up after he through it , ? ;)

Problem is he been booked so can’t make a rash tackle ..

If he was it might explain his penalty with his right...

  • Sky showing the highlights of the first half.

Watch their goal. How many times does our player do that. Proper curled it into the top corner.

We've scored a couple of thunderbolts over the past couple of seasons but not any ones with finesse.
  • We absolutely need another CM asap.

  • Don’t care how many strikers we have, we’re still short there and lacking quality. This style we’re playing will burn through players. Hopefully Miles and Godden will be in soon but a huge amount will be resting on players with sketchy fitness records.
Up front and midfield still need quality if we’re really going to challenge.

As a side note rarely wanted a team to fail as much as these Brum muppets and their fans.
  • Birmingham getting most of their progress down  their right. Small good going forward but been letting their number 8 get behind him .
Up front we see how Kanu is not a hold up player for Tyreece Campbell. Campbell not a natural striker. But at least he tries to worry them with his pace.
Berry looks a bit wild not knowing what to do with the ball.

    We don't sign "flair" players
  • Sky+ has been awful.
I have sky sports app on tv and have switched to that and problems solved.
  • Isn't that Carabao Cup sign a nasty shade of green. Offset terribly by the red and yellow.

Shit branding for a shit product sponsoring a shit competition.
  • Not having anything on the right hand side seems a problem and needless .  Otherwise quite enjoyed it - good effort levels and caused them problems .
  • Birmingham have 72% possession but 41% of the game is being played in their third of the pitch - only 26% in Charlton’s third.

Each team has had nine touches of the ball inside the opponent’s penalty area.
Funny that the goal didnt need any touches in the penalty area.

Football is such a simple game, ruined by meaningless stats.
  • Pretty sure Anderson is there for the press. With the ball he really struggles. We do seem to lack the ability to create an opening aside from forcing an error from them. They have looked tidy, nice passes and beat our press on a few occasions but we seemed to have the better chances.

That seems to be Nathan Jones' tactic. Both against Pompey and Wigan.
