The biggest compliment I can pay Mannion is that we barely talk about him. Quietly goes about his business.
We've not really had to talk about either Goalkeeper this season.
I think we're seeing that the Goalkeeper / Defence works together as a unit, the former is only as good as those in front of him, and the Defence is only as good as the bloke behind - We wouldnt have kept so many clean sheets with both Mannion or Maynard-Brewer else.

Very good post.
On the commentary last night they quoted the stats for clean sheets for both 'keepers, and it's remarkable similar...
So much better than the other clown. How can some not see it? Truly baffling
Bit much isn't it? AMB has done pretty well this season.
Agreed.
I mean, it's just a genuinely wanky comment about a bloke who is clearly a decent human being, who moved to the other side of the world at a very young age to further his career at Charlton and who, as proved by his many concussions, puts his body on the line for our club.
Rate him or not, fine. But that was just an unpleasant, unnecessary dig.
Mannion has a touch of Ben Amos about him. Calm and hardly looks flustered. Perhaps in a weakness too, as you could say an area for improvement is footwork a little from long distance shots.
I much prefer him to AMB purely because he commands his box far better. He comes for high balls and relieves pressure where AMB never really leaves his line
I think Mannion is a more well rounded goalkeeper than AMB. He’s seems to do most things competently and none spectacularly. I’d say AMB has quite a few glaring deficiencies in his game. I’d want to bring in a definite number one though for next season and move AMB
I'm certain AMB is going to fall over at some point doing a GK and pass straight to the opposition.

Kicking is an area he's looked really solid at this season. Left or right foot, he's rarely messed it up.
Feel far more relaxed with Manion in goal. Much better command of his area and seems to talk to his defenders a lot more.
Still question marks around his shot stopping and he was beaten from long range too often during his first spell in goal.
Said it before I think Manion is "fine" at this level and I wouldn't be averse to him starting in goal if we go up, just have a feeling we will need someone a bit more experienced in a higher division.
The trialist in the U21s was an experienced, out of contract journeyman keeper in his 30s.
I assume he has been around as cover while AMB is injuried but heard nothing about him signing a deal.
I had assumed we would bring in an emergency loan keeper anyway if Mannion got injured. You'd hope a loan backup keeper from the Championship would be better than a free agent?
I think Mannion is good at commanding his box and decent in distribution but not the best shot stopper at times. AMB is a good shot stopper but has too many mental errors and flaps around too much on crosses. If only we had a keeper who had the best qualities of both of them
Mannion is 26 but I think he's going to improve to become an excellent keeper. We've been unlucky with conceding long shots when he's in goal, which arguably could have been closed down better.
Crucially at this level he's very good aerially, which lends to a more consistent performance than AMB as that gets tested more often than long shot screamers.
With Jones, Gillespie and Mannion, we've never looked so solid from crosses and corners. Together they are a fortress, and as I said, league one teams often resort to this especially in the closing minutes of a match.
AMB made an error in the December game against Crawley but has been very solid for us up until his injury. Mannion has been very solid since he came in. What the excellent statbank has shown is that both are under less pressure/busy since our improvement which helps. I am happy with both.
