Same with car parking - I have to explain they I have a space and they just haven't sent out the car park passes yet. Then the security guard reads thr0ugh all the names on his list which is in no particular order until he can find my name or my number plate. Surely they could sort it by Surname? or by number plate? Whilst we are improving in a number of ways there are others where we are not even prehistoric
Looking at the seats availiable in the NWQ block C area for the Bolton I would estimate less than 50 season tickets have been sold in the aera allocated. There did not seem many young fans there on Saturday. I have a seat in the NWQ a couple of rows in front of the proposed area.
I really like North West Upper, sat there for 2 years as a season ticket holder and love the view. Decided to sit there when I sat there for the play-offs game vs Doncaster. Just has a really nice view of the game and feels like there's more leg space than other areas.
Switched tickets this season to the back of West Lower and so far, so good. Love the view of the pitch, and gives me a break from the view behind the goals and standing for away days

High up in the west (upper or lower) is probably the best view in the stadium. For some reason the east never seems as good to me.
I get to so few games these days I choose to sit in the CE to have a bit more atmosphere but with how the wind often blows it’s a risk if it’s raining.
Think we can all be guilty of taking it for granted how great The Valley is. Yes we all think it looks great in every picture but the location and different views available are pretty unusual in this division.
There didn't seem to be a lot of fans in the NW Quad for the 16 - 20 zone or was I looking in the wrong place?

I too looked in that area and could see no sign of more 16-20 year olds than anywhere else. I'm not at all surprised as it's a poor idea. I should imagine any 16-20 year old who wants a bit of atmosphere would be in the proper covered end, why would you want to be in the quadrant? If you're the quiet type you'd likely stick to the west or east. I started standing down the covered end from about age 12.
So if you are aged 16 -20 it's £125 but u18 is £135. My son who is 14 in October and his mate want to start going on their own,but would have to pay £135 even though they are younger. There needs to be an u16 ticket introduced. It cost me and my son £48 to sit in the west stand on Saturday. I cant commit to a season ticket,but not sure im willing to pay that sort of money too often for Div 3 football.We need to encourage as many young fans as possible to come, Get them at an early age.
Challenging for promotion makes even games against "less glamorous" teams attractive to fans.
But for casual or new fans just as important is getting everthing else right.
That means getting to the ground and out again, food and drink, toilets, cleanliness of the stadium, queues, etc
Clean toilets or hot food won't encourage people to attend but dirty toliets and poor food will discourage people, especially non-hardcore existing fans, unlike most posters on this forum, from coming again.
And getting both the single ticket pricing and availability right.
Make it as easy as possible to buy tickets, no extra charges so impulse buys arent stopped by poor tech/cost/compli ated pricing.
And use your "influencers". The club has around 8k people willing to pay £100s upfront for league 1 football. And they all know lapsed fans or fans of other or no clubs who they can influence/encourage to come. But make the offer simple to explain (one stand, one price) and affordable.
There is a big tourist industry in London and football is part of that. Put together packages for overseas visitors, link up with Visit Greenwich, the National Maritime Museum, TFL to let tourists knows we're here.
There are also large ethnic groups in the area that arent seen at the Valley in substanial numbers. Cack handed attempts under Sandgaard didnt work but for example Greenwich has a large Gurka community. Use groups like Armed Forces Addicks to build relationships with them.
And there are 1800 "squaddies" at Woolwich but little is being done to encourage any of them along.
The womens team playing at the Valley is also an opportunity to showcase what is on offer to a different demographic.
A lot of this is slow, long-term, marginal stuff but it has to be done.
A succesful team helps enourmously but the club can't rely on that and in any case you want to build a wide cohort of fans and potential fans already familiar and positive about visiting the Valley so you can capitalise on any on the field success straight away.

Always said this myself about there being an under 16 season ticket,it’s such a big jump up from age of 11 to the under 18 price…(it’s more than double on the day they turn 11)I know a lot of mates who just can’t afford to pay the increase for their kids especially the parents with more than one,they are the future of our club,speculate to accumulate an all that…need them throught the gates with the right pricing…!!!

Yeah that's fair, just presuming nobody was bothered as they get 55% of the outgoings back on beer. Pretty sure adults got socks and 1 beer on a Tuesday in January for spending £500 +.
Another option would be to make football cheaper for everyone and cut the gimmicks. I spend £100 on beer n shite every time I attend. Make the tickets £20 each and I'd do another 4/5 games a season.

Never felt older than when reading about the launch of a dedicated content creator area at football.

The majority of that age group will want to sit in the Covered end with their mates.
Now the Supporters trust have advertised this 10 pound deal. The students from the local university are starting again this month. That’s their market.
Though looking at a photo of that zone from their last home game there was definitely a few middle aged people sitting in there.
