  • Kohli mistimes a pull and is caught at mid on for 16 (18)

    79-2 off 10
  • 142-2 off 20
  • Rohit chips a slower ball yorker for a dominant 86 off 63 balls

    156-3 off 21.4
  • India win by 7 wickets with 19.3 overs to go

That result means that we will go above Pakistan in to the top four assuming we beat Afghanistan tomorrow
  • England unchanged.

Thought Woakes might have a rest as he has been unwell.
  • England win the toss and elect to bowl
  • Looks a belter of a pitch.
  • Well that's an awful start - Woakes down the legside and Buttler fails to stop the ball

    5-0 off 0 overs
  • Topley on the money with a maiden

    7-0 off 2

  • I thought we should have batted first & put 400 on the board. Would that not have helped up with our NRR ?? Rather than having to chase 250 odd.
  • Poor Woakes is all over the place but he's not being helped by some pretty lazy fielding - Buttler twice and now Bairstow have misfielded and he's gone for 21 in his two overs
  • "Take a blow Woakesy" has to be the call after he goes for 31 off his opening three overs

    35-0 off 5

It does which means that it is even more important that we get our line and length and plans right which we have failed to do to date. These are two decent openers but they are no Rohit and Shubman who would murder what we've thrown down so far.

    51-0 off 7
  • Woeful performance to date.
  • The worrying thing with Woakes isn't that he isn't getting lateral movement, it hasn't been a feature of the world cup so far.  Its that he is missing his line and length by a lot.

The advantage of the tournament format is that he has time to sort it out.  Its a bit of a worry of he doesn't though.
  • Unfortunately we had a Harmison moment with that first ball and that set the tone. Topley hasn't been too bad without looking threatening but Woakes and Curran have been really poor

    75-0 off 9

    Scrub that.

Looks like we will be chasing 400 & will struggle to get there.

This is my Sunday spolit already & it's not yet 10.30.
  • To put this bowling performance in perspective, the line for 10 overs was around about the 46 mark. Afghanistan are 79-0

  • This is a big spell for Adil Rashid. He hasn't been at his best in recent matches but, hopefully, he will get us the breakthrough we desperately need
  • Gurbaz reaches his 50 off 33 balls
  • There is literally no reason on earth to bowl first against Afghanistan on this track.
Win or lose, Buttler has to be asked to justify the decision.
  • Woakes/Curran combined figures 5-0-57-0
  • I hate watching us given the run around.

Highest powerplay score of this WC. Beating NZ v Netherlands and SA v Sri Lanka who then piled up 400+
  • There's nothing like a good start.

And this is nothing like a good start.

Making their openers look like prime Bradman.
  • Is cricket allowed to be played in Afghanistan at the moment? Or are they all just based outside of the country? Probably highly likely that most would be based internationally even without the Taliban in charge but can they play there?

Cricket is allowed to be played in Afghanistan so far as men's domestic competitions are concerned. Of course, it is a "no-go zone" so far as touring teams are concerned and in line with the Taliban refusing to allow women to play sport, the Women's international side has been disbanded
